I don't agree, I plan on turning my MR into a track car. It's much quicker with the shifting. We're adding upgraded clutches and a cooler shortly. It's much quicker to shift in the MR. A lot of people feel the MR is weak for racing, but I think it's an untapped powerhouse.

BTW, pet peeve calling the dual clutch tranny an automatic, its not. Manual with an automatic mode. A manumatic if you will.
Exactly.

I'd really love to try out that SST tranny, wish I test drove it before buying my X.

I don't think many people think it's weak for RACING, but weak for their intended goal of "lol a lot of power 1/4 mile ***** yee haw".

I would think the dual clutch would be better for road racing? Concentrate on braking and turn in, less on downshifting and gear selection. I'd get an MR, probably will in a year or so once my wife and I get the current cars paid off.

It still annoys me how some people call the MR an Automatic, anyways thats beside the point, My opinion is a bit biased since im driving a GSR, but whoa has it been fun. Ive even gotten my gf to scream "holy ****!!" while taking an onramp onto the 105! (in LA). Im pretty sure you can obviously do that on a MR but i love how, at least how i feel connected to the car when i press down on the cluth and shift.

Yah don't fool yourself... you can definitely do that in an MR. I'll admit the feeling is a bit different because it's smoother, but it will definitely put your head in the seat after that initial tune.
