Nothing against the manfacturing itself, just the fact that it's been proven that the stock downpipe flows just as good.

I'm confused as to why people bought the AMS motor mount, not realizing it was going to transfer vibrations back into the cabin of the car.

That is the point it stiffens up the engine mounting location. What did they think was going to happen? Unicorns and rainbows come out of the air vents into the cabin?

Even says on their website

Please Note:

• Use of this mount will transmit more engine vibration into the passenger compartment

Until someone has been in a car with solid motor mounts they don't really understand what it's like......

Noob mistake, but at least an understandable one imo.

I agree on the HKS BOV being a waste of money. The second gen (without the fins) I had wouldn't hold past 23.5 psi. Sold it to a turbo honda owner.

I also bought ground cables which IMO were a complete waste of money. The only thing they stabilized were themselves.

Wow..really lovin that badging..haha I hope that's not real in any way. Regarding the Bov's (HKS and such) correct me if I'm wrong but, there really isn't a need for a vta unless your making over like 400 hp? otherwise its just a waste(money) and your losing more hps/tq..

That's correct, but I'd say 400 is low. It really depends on the turbo. Most turbos are made for the DV abuse. I'd raise your hp # to 650+ before VTA is appropriate. I can't think of a turbo that can't handle it though. I'm just throwing a number out there.

Ya just can't think of a reason to VTA unless your making some big hp. I'll be honest I did with my VIII and I was losing out big! so went to a recirculating Forge div. and made all the difference.

LOL same here with my VIII. I bought it with a TurboXS VTA. Put the JDM DV on it lickity split. Made a huge difference. I really don't see a reason to change the factory X DV. Mine has been holding 28psi without crush. Pretty impressive imo.

IMO it does not. The issue of vibrations transferring into the cabin are clearly stated.

interesting thread.

i regret buying and installing the HKS downpipe...comparing it to the stock DP....they are basically the same, except lighter....same bends and diameter...i just dont want to put more time taking it out now.

Even though Ive posted, I want to do my top 3 (in no particular order)
1. HKS SSQV BOV
2. AMS Solid Front Motor Mount (90a dura)
3. Eibach springs

Good call. The Eibach springs are quite ****ty. I met a guy at the Mitsu dealership that had them on his X. I could only shake my head (inside my head though..lol).

I bought a turbo timer and bov from Greedy. Both junk! the valve leaked constantly and the turbo timer has a mind of its own even after its been re wired

I think i would of looking at companies like Blitz and ARC, although they are expensive i would like to see the gains on these? It helps that i live in Chicago and i can just drive 30 minutes to AMS, so i guess thats another reason i went with AMS. I wish i had the money like all the other guys in this forum to drop on ARC parts lol. As we all know with project cars its a process of trial and error. I would like to remove the trial part and stick with the more expensive parts and never replace them again.

I think more than any other part, i would change the car! I would have selected a GSR over the MR, now that time has past and i have seen the gains and change over the GSR over the MR, but thats my opinion. I have put too much hard work into the MR to get rid lol.

Just be careful when selecting parts. Look around at all options and vendors and TALK to them. Email or call them and shoot questions as much as possible to get your best goal.

I totally agree! no reason to change unless needed.
