Boost Gauge?

Just want to vent... Why did Mitsubishi sell the Evolution X without boost gauges. It should at least be an option like in the Evo 9...

I also wondered why they didnt offer it, would of been nice if the navi unit would do the logging and show it on there.

I was sort of looked down on by Dodge owners at a track open event 1/4 miles. These SRT4's all had boost gauges, and all but one had a MBC. Wished I had that myself. Got to do a whole custom dealio to create a new pillar mount for 2-3....

I am not a fan of nav LCD displays either. Wrong placement, wrong depth perception that doesn't work with me under stress and with time going by fast.

A lot of turbo cars came without them. VW GTI/Jetta did not bring them and neither did the WRX and PT Cruiser Turbo. I agree that it would be a nice option.

Yeah I was surprised that they didn't come with a gauge. Even my SRT-4 I had previous came with a boost gauge installed... actually my first gen eclipse had a plus/minus sort of gauge built into the dash.

Not garbage if you program them to read something else (ie knock count).

we have better ways of doing this (KnockCEL). also I think the OE Evo gauge is mechanical and therefore not capable of this.

He was speaking about the DSM guage. It was calculated boost and DSMlink could set it to display a number of different things.
