HOW many people dread the mitsu dealership.
I drove an hour and a half to Richmond to get my EVO because when I went and looked at the dealership in VA Beach the sales people tried to feed me so much BS about the car. And the only time it's going to the dealership is for warranty work and when I head home I'll stop by and get my free state inspection since the dealership is on route 60.
a dealership is a dealership its only there for you to buy the car and never go back. i have not had any problems with my local misti dealers maybe its because i only got 5k miles on my car. but they re flash my car for free every time i need to change swap around my winter and summer wheels. i think the misti dealerships are a lot better then bmw's i own a bmw and im never ever going to go to another one or own another bmw.
Well here in Bakersfield I had to take my car to Mazda (Mitsu dealership has some type of agreement) and well lets just say i wasn't too happy with the service, first off, they scratch my venture shield (can't really tell unless the sun hits it at a shallow angle, but I know its there) and they didn't put back the 'skid plastics' or whatever the plastic parts under the engine are call right. I only took it in once, 5k to make sure everything had been broken in right and nothing needed fixing. Never again unless I have a major issue will I go back, and if I have to go back I'll drive down to southcoast (where I got the car) for service.
@ohitisethan ^^ FAIL
A dealership sells you a car with a lawful promise to warranty any repairs not caused by the customer. But Mitsu finds a way to make everything look like the customer's fault. If you're gonna come in here on a public forum and say that BMW is worse than Mitsu, you better have proof. I mean we all love our cars, but we're not stupid. Mitsu is a BAD BAD company as far as warranty goes, which is a big deal. You just haven't had the chance to deal with them yet in this regard.
I am in the process of replacing a clutch and my car is COMPLETELY stock. They are not going to cover it, and they will only tell me that after charging me 105 for a diagnostic. They will not tell me before that. Considering BMW sells their cars with the service included for 5 years, I just don't see how they can be rated as below Mitsu. BMW is expensive and relatively more repair-prone, but they are not going to skimp on warranty. That is a fact.

CatalystGod my bmw has an extended warranty which will last until this year. i also need to replace my clutch for the bmw and they will not replace it even tho i paid a lot of money for my warranty. they also told me that my rims were bent and wanted to charge a huge load of money to replace them when really my tps just needed to be restarted and the wheels needed to be rebalanced. Bmw will only do oil changes and things like that but when it comes to other things like electronics they tell me its not covered in the warranty such as my window motor was burned out and they said the reason for that is because i prob because of over use and they wont replace it for me unless i pay them. when i bought my extended warranty the sales person told me it will be the same thing as the original warranty last week when i went to them saying my car batts died they told me i did not drive the car enough when i drive the car almost everyday. i have owned a few bmws now and im really dissatisfied with their service and how they treat their customers. i understand i haven't owned a misti for long enough but from my own view i think that my misti dealer treats me a lot better. ive had so many problems with my bmw with electronics while having my warranty and i still had to pay for it because they tell me its not covered in the contract.
I hope you tried other dealerships man. If that really happened, I have to say its not the norm for BMW as a company. If your mitsu dealer treats you well for an expensive WARRANTY CLAIM, then that is not the norm for Mitsu dealers. But if both of these cases apply to you, then I must say, you probably have a good chance of being hit by lightening today!
I have dealt with BMW in the past with my Friend's 5 Series in Northern VA. They had to replace the window motor thingy (its a common problem for BMW), his cooling system and his NAV unit. No problems. I was with him in all these instances since he was a total noob with cars and wanted my help to ensure he wasn't shafted by the dealership. needless to say, he said he will not buy a BMW again, but for reasons pertaining to vehicle reliability and not the dealership service. He was scared out of his mind to own it beyond the warranty period and sold it last year while it still had 6 months left.

My sisters bf has a bmw and its been nothing but problems with the dealership, so much so that he almost took them to court. He loves his 135 but hates going to the dealership.
