Removing Mitsubishi Badge On Front Bumper Grill

I am debating on removing the mitubishi badge on the front bumper but wanted to know if anyone here has done it and could give me some advice on a how to. Since its basically part of the bumper it looks like you would have to actually hack saw it off which might make it look bad unless your careful.
The silver part of the badge somehow seperated and fell off over the winter. Its now black with a hole in it where the badge must have been bonded to. It doesnt look the best

You could just fill it in with bondo and spray paint it flat black.

^ not really. Wanting to know from anyone who has actually hack sawed it off, if it turned out messy or not. Maybe some pictures, and what they may have done to clean it up. sand paper?

If you were going to try this the one thing you would have to think about is where the emblem meets the grille. Depending on whether the joint between the and emblem grille is solid, you may have some filling to do. You can't (you shouldn't) use bondo or fiberglass on plastic, so you'll have to use either an ABS filler or make your own (basically melt plastic to bond with the grille). If you've never attempted any type of body work it might be best to find a friend who has.

I'd recommend finding a use grille before hacking up the original!

At least one of the guys on the forums used a dremel and cut the bumper flush... He then plastidipped the entire black part of the bumper.... Looked pretty good. I'm just scared to do it.

I'd get another Mitsu emblem if I were u ;P

Talk to DrasticK. He's local to you and did it. It definitely involved some work

I taped mine off and hit it with a scotch-brite pad to scuff it up. Then just spray-canned it black. Looks quite good actually.

mine is black... just because its missing the actual badge since it fell off. It looks ok except for the fact that there is a big chip in it maybe from where the badge attached before or a rock chip.. im not sure. Maybe the reason if fell off was from a rock hitting it and shattered the badge and left a chip underneath. Might have to go back to the dealership and get them to get me a new one.

^ this

you have to remove the whole bumper and cut both the top and bottom to remove it. its an easy process. bondo and sandpaper it smooth then hit it with some flat black.
