what are boltz credentials? i havent seen drag times or road racing times/autocross results. i'm a little worried cause nasioc said 11.85@117 on 100oct for boltz thats not exactly the dominate drag evo i was expecting...

regardless, it sounds like boltz was selected without a vote according to nasioc/forumwars

Guys, this isn't an exact science yet. In my opinion, we've come much further than we were last year, which is getting a car that is actually owned by a forum member and that is faster than stock.

The poll was my idea, not The Forum Wars idea. Their criteria was "Cars and drivers nominated and approved by the forums". Thereby, the poll (my poll) never happened. Frankly, the other thing that never happened were people stepping up. I had expected a lot more potential competitors to take an interest than the three we got when that time came up.

People were nominating a ton of guys who were not interested in competing (which I removed since they would not be racing (Gates, etc), and initially we were only looking at Evo X owners.

"Boltz." was selected by The Forum Wars based on forum posts and member interest, but also on the fact that the quarter mile times his car has run would pose a very competitive entry in at least two of the three performance events. I will also say that he was extremely hopeful and committed toward being the competitor selected, and gave the greatest effort in letting The Forum Wars know this.

I'm sorry that all interested parties cannot participate, and whoever was not selected for the show was bound to be unhappy.

I apologize for my stating that we would be running a poll, because the original post clearly does not say that. I hope that if this goes into a third year, we'll tweak it a little better, meaning I will do a better job of planning on how it is presented to the site to everyone's satisfaction.

Things have changed quite a bit in the last few days! Apparently Boltz is not going to be able to be in the competition, and Josh (666 Evo) has been more than kind to accept the spot.
