Top Gear USA Episode 2 - Evo X
Producers of Top Gear US: Please stop getting "stars" on that only drive a Prius. This is a show about CARS and preferably cars that most of us will only dream of owning. That means we want people on there that LOVE cars, not hate them. That's what I love about the UK version. They have their stars on, which I know just about none of them, but they all have exotic cars which makes it even cooler.
True. It's the interviewer who makes the segment, not the interviewee. For example, when Tony Hawk was in the chair and a big deal was made of him driving a hybrid with 20s, why didn't anyone ask him how a 8-cylinder substitute for a V12 impacts his social consciousness? Or, the Hobbit, whose utterly ridiculous automotive fairy tales would have made for a field day of hilarity. Can't we get someone smart to host the show like they have in the UK? I know for a fact there are enough Americans with IQs in the triple digits for another casting call.
I really enjoyed the X segment too, but i'm unlikely to go out of my way to catch anymore episodes. Its just plain god awful. It has a highschool production feel to it with a top gear budget.
Anywho, when the original version is putting out new episodes like the three wise men episode (S16e01), comparisons cant even be made. The US version will NEVER be that ******* entertaining PERIOD.

Hm, let me reword that.. I hate his media coverage and the facade he puts on for super cars exposed to make paul tracy look like an antagonist. He has hosted a few other shows on speed channel, GTChannel has down like 30 videos of him not just during the drift events / d1gp and didnt include Ken Gushi, he supported the F&F movies and I believe it was a SmokingTire video where he promoted scion tC as being the coolest sports car that a driver can have.

Well, I dont deny that. Yeah he's a champion and all that but the guy just aggrivates me in general, not because of top gear usa. Also agree that their isnt enough chemistry to watch the show like the original and the only thing I found entertaining was them drunk and playing with the fire.
for the opportunity he gets because of those/ drive in the ROC - FOrd WRC cars RCcars etc/ , i would do a same in pink lingerie.

As the show evolved, I've come to see Tanner as the only host who should be carried to the next season. TG Australia is on its third set of presenters, one chap staying for the entire 3 seasons. There's hope for our TG. Let's get some fresh blood in there, keep Tanner, and do an actual car show. TG UK didn't begin its challenges until it established some cred with the audience.

he seemed like an ok guy and seemed to know his **** regarding dealership deals etc, but he didn't seem like a good fit and was pretty boring
