sell me on one of these 2 clutches!
ACT ME1-HDSS @ 595shipped
ACT ME1-XTSS @ 635shipped
Currently making at least 360/360 on my X. Adding pump, injecotrs, and turbo real soon. People say spend the extra cash and get the XTSS because the HDSS is "dead". I'm concerned about the extra pedal stiffness added for Daily Driver. Tradeoff looks like it may last a bit longer for a couple bucks more. I'm not planning to ever use race gas. Some people claim that the difference in "feel" between the two clutches is HUGE and others say no difference. I know this comes down to preference and I am leaning toward HDSS since I prob will never go past 460whp with cams, but I'd like more input.
Opinions? Do they even make HDSS anymore lol?
upgrading to SSPv3 with this

Do not buy the xtreme pressure plate one, I thought they discontinued those but maybe I am wrong.
If you think you need more than the HDSS, then get the HDG6 which is the sprung 6 puck version.
Also, coming from a guy who is on this 4th aftermarket master cylinder. Call up fred beans and get the magnus kit with the legit OEM cylinder. I am not sure if SSP has a working v3 yet, but I have still seen people complaining about them. I went through 3 SSP ones all different versions and even had a magnus one fail due to a bad cylinder that wasn't the legit OEM one.
The magnus is what i have in my car now and it works so while I don't like either really it seems that is the best solution right now.

Yeah I think I am going to go with the HDSS my original choice. I'm going to have Akuma do the install. The owner tracks his X, so I will see what CMC he has been using although I think it is an SSPv3.

Don't see a XT set up for the Evo X on ACT's website. Only the HD set up. But they do have the XT set up for the 8 and 9's, so is there actually one for the X now or did it get discontinued?

You can call and special request the XT, but it's pointless and just causes more problems than it's worth. The HDSS holds plenty of power, and if you need more step up to the HDG6.
I dropped my car off for a new clutch on Friday. I was originally going to go with HDSS and was advised to go with HDG6 because I'm going with e85 one day and launch the car often. I've been told by everyone who runs the 6puck that it's very livable and daily drivable. I pick up the car tomorrow so we'll see. I think you'll find everyone will tell you to go with the 6puck.
I heard they quit offering the XTSS because it was a guaranteed CMC killer.
