hdss is rated at 497 tq and the xtss is rated at 567 tq
so the extream pressure plate will hole a little more power and the zlutch pedle will be harder with the xtream pressure plate

only the pressure plate is different the clutch disk is still the same

Would the enagement of the clutch be the same, even if the pedle is stiffer, ie would it grab and judder wen engaed like paddle clutch would

The answer to the above is yes,the engagement characteristics are going to be the same, since the only part changed is the pressure plate. A organic disc by design is not going to have the same engagement as a puck style/padle style. Not sure where some of the torque numbers posted are coming from, but from ACT the HDSS is rated at 508 lb ft and the XTSS at 567 lb ft both measured at the crank.

I got the XTSS since my car was making 460/440 whp, let me just tell you the heavy pedal feel get really old real quick in the traffic after a long day at work. It's not such a big deal when you first get started in the morning 'cause you've just had a full night rest.
My car is a daily driver, I logged in about 15K in 6mos or so.

I had the XTSS in my previous Evo...I loved it. A little heavier than stock, but not bad at all and I sit in a lot of traffic coming home. Of course, I grew up driving a 68 GTO w/ a REALLY heavy clutch!

Good luck...and MAKE SURE they use Diaqueen in the TC after the install!! LOL

depending on your mods list, I would say that the hdss is more than enough for most. I think that you should be fine, i ran mine in my car for almost 20k with over 100 launches/ or more with no issues. Just some minor Adjustment stuff but other than that.

That is with the 6-PUK disk. With the Street disk it is lower but still more then most people would need. I had the HDSS in my 2003 VIII and if anything it felt light to me and worked VERY well, no lock out at all. Held everything I could throw at it with ease.

that's good to hear. I ordered the XTSS for my car and a daily driver clutch with quite a holding capacity is what i wanted...

I see that the XTSS can cover all my needs for now...

good good...
