i am using and used K&N in several cars and i am still using it. The oil was NEVER an issue. The car never had problem with the wet filter.
Maybe some people doesn't know how they have to clean them, and they just soak them in oil and wonder how the MAF got clogged... LOL
Even then a MAF cleaning spray should work fine, but i actually never had to use it.

 

Man, I bought a used motorcycle recently and the filter looked like someone just dipped it in a bucket of oil and slapped it on the bike! I was disgusted.

 

many times people blame on the product, and completely ignoring they own wrong doing with the product.
But i am sure that bike owner would never admit he did that, he would blame on the K&N filter design... LOL

good luck with a new bike ! I am not allowed to ride a bike anyore, so i am jelous.
