Exhaust for MR

Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum and new to the Mitsubishi family. Just bought my first EVO X MR, and I love it. I am want to change exhaust (cat back system), can anyone help me with this decision? I'm looking for a nice deep sound, I like ETS V2 not the quiet pack. Any thoughts?
Thank you

Love my ETS, you wont be disappointed. But keep in mind, there is a gagilian exhaust options you can go for. Michael @ETS is an awesome guy and he actually loves his job thus being real friends and straight up with you if you have any questions plus he is professional and doesnt go "x company blows get ours". Also Cobb offers great ones and all the people I've dealth with cobb (mainly plano and some HQ) are great people as well.

If you are going with ETS, go with v2 regular I didnt want a quite exhaust but I didnt want an obnoxiously loud one either so I went with regular, it is perfect for me. The dump o2 downpipe on the other hand... was WAY louder than I expected and felt bad for about an hour as I thought I was one of those ricers with a fart can but I was completely stupid thinking like that... I now LOVE it and all the people who hear it are in love with it as well. Get a highflow car to avoid bs at emissions and do NOT get a dump o2 downpipe for emissions and cop attention, get the recirculated one. The dump o2 sounds like a jet engine taking off and I love it. Here is a vid of how it sounds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iQUIV3OUE8

I bought and installed the ETS V2 regular a few weeks ago on my 2010 SE. I did quite a bit of research before buying. I watched videos for several months and read countless threads. I was debating on single vs. dual. I eventually decided on dual and then decided on the ETS V2 over the Buschur SS 3".

The ETS customer service experience was excellent. I placed my order over the phone with Michael who was able to answer all my questions and help me out. He is only a phone call or IM away and always seems happy and enthusiastic to provide information.

Shipping took about 1 week from WA to FL. Fitment is nearly perfect. I have absolutely no rattling issues as I've seen mentioned in a couple threads. The only difficulty was bolting up to the stock cat as the flange on the V2 is slightly larger (true 3" piping). I had to use a pry bar to bend the heat shield on the cat to fit the V2. I damaged the heat shield a bit in the process but it's not really an issue for me. You might want to consider a test pipe or HFC if you want to avoid this. Not sure how all that works with emissions checks in CA.

The sound is louder than I expected. If I could choose again I might go with the quiet V2 as I've read the performance is identical to the regular V2. I have a 63 mile roundtrip highway commute each day and sometimes there is a bit of drone that can get annoying. As long as I cruise at around 65 in 6th gear it is barely audible at all, but at higher rpm's it can get loud. Luckily this isn't much of an issue for us with a 6th gear. I have set off about 4 car alarms in the past few weeks in different parking lots. At idle and slow cruise it is very deep. At WOT it is like a hungry lion ready to eat every other car on the road.

I honestly can't say that I've noticed a significant change in performance. I think my butt dyno just isn't very sensitive. The X is my daily driver and it has only a drop-in filter, the V2, and the factory tune for now. I drive in auto-x events at least once a month and the car certainly doesn't feel slow. I haven't been over 100mph since I got the exhaust but WOT sprints feel smooth and still put a smile on my face after over 7 months of owning the car.

My vote is for the ETS V2 or V2 quiet.

Thanks for the input, I guess ETS V2 it is. Great video T6. Youi have to post one from the back of the car, maybe from a chase car!

I was going to do some fly bys and some city videos as well but my friends were all traveling for work and when they got back my car was in the body shop... still is. Whenever I get my car back, we will shoot some more videos and I can post them up.

edit: I forgot that you can actually watch the dyno video. Its on my signature.

I have a 2011 Evo X Mr. I bought the Perrin Exhaust. It's sounds like no other. And there's no droning.

Get both. The downpipe install is a pain in the ***, but you only need to do it once.
