Question HeadStuds 4 reassurance on stock block?

Good dayfrom Antarctica. Don't ask what I am doing here. All I can say is thank God for Remote Desktop. When I get back I plan to be one step closer to my turbo build while hoping to maintain my stock block. I plan on taking the ride to the shop to get my fuel & injectors scaled / installed. One step closer. Turbo I will be running will either be a green, map, or a red tuned for a daily driver setup and plan on keeping around 380 torque as recommended. My question is that if I plan on never "building" my stock block, do you think it is worth it to install ARP headstuds as "re-assurance". In two years of driving I only threw it from 4th redline to 3rd redline once on accident Should I do the studs or pass because it really isn't worth it till I increase the torque passed the so called "safe zone" & build up the block? (hope I never do so) Cheers and I hope the weather is much warmer up there!

Interesting idea. I think its a good idea but I'm no guru. Just dont do it as a "mod" and rely on it like a built motor.

Why are you in Antarctica?

Imo if you are going in the motor to do only that, don't do it

No its not.
Change rods , that is your safety insurance. But when you do that it makes sence to do piston and headstud etc. Since you are opened up the engine anyway.

If you go with highher boost then stock. RPM is not as much of the factor on this , then a boost itself.

Thanks for the advice. I am in Delphia oceanport and it is beautiful. The bays are blue the landscape is amazing, but it is quite a bit cold. I'm here on vacation because I wanted something out of the ordinary and thought that Antarctica was all ice. Also I am an IT major and the programming scene here is very rich in culture

No kidding

Headstuds are not needed on the stock block, chances are you'll break something else before the studs/headgasket let go.

wow schaaaaweeeet vacay. whats the temp like? how you holding up with the daylight/night time hours? cool times. make sure to take a bunch of pics, i, for one, would be stoked to see them when your back.

headstuds, IMO, are one of those things that is el cheapo insurance for our motors. cheaper to have them in than to separate the head. that being said, like above posters said, your rods etc are way more likely to go first. so unless your in there for some other reason (cams, pistons, rods) I would wait till you mod list gets bigger and they get tossed in with other stuff.

i know this is not the case, but all i can think about it hundreds of miles worth of ice, studded tires, penguins instead of cones, ripping the evo around!!! if only right?
