Never gonna use HKS products...

I wanted try different BOV and came up with HKS BOV...
Since there is too many problem with VTA, so I choose recir HKS BOV.
I bought used one and so excited until I installed it...

Well, probably many of you, figured out what happened....

I tried and tried.....searching and searching.. fixing and fixing.....
buying new vacuum hoses and connectors......
you name it. I tried everything.....

What I got...stupid sounds all day....

I am pretty upset about this issue....
Also, my co-worker bought HKS intercooler pipings....and I am not impressed with the product.....

Overpriced JDM...crap!!!!!

Sorry guys who did not like my comment...
I had to let it out!

HKS!

I agree, I have never had one product from HKS I have liked, instant buyers remorse.

Must be all happy hks customers being wrong then.
Do you ever thought maybe your side of the story causing the frustration?
Like not proper install or product choice ...etc?

Must be some one else fault?

Hks makes good stuff. They are not gods, but a very respectable company.

Didn't you have an HKS exhaust on your Evo?

I think they make (in general) a quality overpriced product. Most people are happy with the product, but being imported costs money, and so does the name, so they're overpriced. The BOV is not a good choice for the Evo, but, adding an aftermarket BOV is a silly idea unless you're making HUGE power anyway.

Just kind of shows the narrowmindedness that is endemic on internet forums. The OP makes a generalization about a product after having one personal experience with only one of their (second hand) HKS products. Perhaps the used HKS BOV was broken? Maybe a new BOV would have worked better? Who knows? So the HKS BOV is terrible...does that make their exhaust for the Evo x bad too? Perhaps do a little bit more research before making a rash purchase.

FYI, the new HKS BOV for the EVO X has worked well for many owners. It does hold boost well on the EVO X, but didn't work so well on the older Evos.

^^THANK YOU!! OP bought a USED product, then blames HKS for it's malfunctions??

What bothers me is the fact that three posts after that, someone (that obviously hasn't used their products) just takes the OP's post and decides HE will never buy HKS. Wjamyers, how does it feel to be such a sheep???

The HKS Hi-Power CBE is pretty sweet IMO. Not a huge fan of the squeaking BOV though

ha ha ha. You need to learn to read. I didn't decide anything other than to say "I'm glad." figured some dope would read all kinds of **** into it and think it's all serious.

I've already bought Technafit, FIC, Buschur, Mil.Spec, Walbro, MAP, Works, Tanabe, AEM, Prosport, CBRD, Forge, Whiteline, Bilstein and GTWorx after searching here for months on end reading about what worked for other people. HKS never really came up except for loud-*** exausts and ricealicious BOVs to atmo (stupid ricers).

I'm trying to think of a single HKS part that even made it to my "maybe" list. and I can't. maybe there's a reason for that. I have no clue.

but please carry on, and DO enjoy your attachment to HKS products, they're JDM, yo.

I am not a JDM fanboy of any means.. And I've never been a really big supporter HKS, but they do make some pretty good products. It has been well documented that the SSQV doesn't work well all the time with Evos but most of their products are pretty good quality. Just to say that I would never buy one of their products is ludicrous.

I have head the same sorts of complaints aimed at the TiAL QR (that I have run on two cars now, and could not be happier with). You have to take a lot of things into account before deciding on which company to go with. By far, the most user-friendly part out there is the Synpase Synchronic. I like the TiAL, thought, and have found a way to make it work with no flutter or odd noises of any kind.
