no its not, its just not good for an evo.
Other cars , seems to me use it without any issues.
But anyway , it is a well known thing the BOV problem some cases.
So if it is a well know thing, why is HKS fault if someone gets a generic , used product , and claims he will never buy anything from the company , when he never bought anything else before? It is just simple silly.
The more silly thing is some people takes his word over a very respectable company with many engineers - manufacturers - builders , proven by racing history /aviation etc. by years and years of developments engineering racing etc.
its beyond me.

It might be sounds mean what i am saying here ( i dont want to be but my language is limited so sorry if sounds like that), but who is the one we put against them to judge they product? Some shop owner we barly know orf someone behind the PC, fact if i go to Eu would hard to find people who know about the opposition here, but every where you ask the HKS name is well known, and respected for a good reason. And that is not accomplished by the faulty products.

Some people really needs a step back, take a good quiet moment to think about these things, and re evaluate they comments.

Of course it is only my opinion, which is basically just as strong as anybody's here... LOL

some short film about HKS, so make sure the less informed wont think HKS is a "wonder garage group".....
i purposely put an old video here , to understand , they were out an kicking when most shops didnt even really was even know around here, never mind the world...

We've (nz) been modifying and tuning Japanese cars since before the EVO came out. HKS has always been a brand to stand beside. I had never heard of most of the brands you guys use in the states before I joined EvoM. Our brands consisted of HKS, greddy/trust, Apexi etc as well as the manufacture tuner options, trd, ralliart, nismo, mugen etc. HKS has always been very popular, reliable and very respected. Admittedly, popularity has declined due to the availability of cheaper options, but the opinion hasn't changed that you get what you pay for.

Specifically about the BOV, I used a HKS SSQV in a libero gt (4G93T), worked flawlessly.

These DP comments are a good example of the nonsense of bigger is better! The American market is focused on low cost, peak power numbers for forums, drag style racing!

FAIL

Correct...Unfortunately. I've been preaching this for quite sometime now.

A perfect example is the World Time Attack. Here's a quote from Eric Hsu of Cosworth, "Tarzan and the CyberEVO go fast with balance and response. Dave and the SSE EVO (Christine) lay down the lap times with brute power because Christine is a tank."

That is the quintessential statement for the difference between Americans and the Japanese

HKS makes a great product. There's a chance the BOV was defective, but more than likely if it WAS defective it's from it being USED. A properly installed recirc HKS BOV shouldn't cause any issues.

Or fake?

OP doesn't even mention what the actual problem was. Maybe he just didn't like the sound that it made.
