I recently picked up one of AMS's widemouth downpipes

it looks amazing, and i can't wait to throw it on. but in the mean time, i have been reading a few how-tos on how to swap for the old O2 housing. apparently is pretty tricky

i've read that I need/should purchase a stud from to go on the downpipe to mate up with a "hidden nut"...

if that's true, who would sell it? or could someone lead me in the right direction as to where to pick one up? (size, grade, etc...)

I had the same issue when I purchased mine used. Just call up ams and they will sell you a bag with all the bolts and gaskets . It's like 30 bucks but it always nice to have some spare stuff lying around.

I don't see it either. Probably why he suggested you call them.

 

yea- guess its just one of those "backdoor" deals where I paypal them and they send me the parts.

You can't order it on the website. So just call them and they will take care of everything over the phone. .

 

Also FYI Monday is a holiday.

Check your local Ace hardware they sell exhaust studs, if you ask behind the counter most napa's can supply them also.

 

what size is it? and what are the specs on the stud? aka- what should i torque it down to

 

The AMS widemouth downpipe comes with the stud and everything else needed for install. That is except for someone to install it or a lift..lol
