At this point nothing; I originally had other things on the build list such as tranny cooler upgrade etc. but I was advised that isn’t needed at this stage. In fact, the advice I am getting is as long as I keep the torque under 400 the clutches and for that matter the block should be relatively safe and reliable (as much as a modified car can be). The real challenge as I understand it at this point is tuning the 2012 since it has new (?) tables or changes from the previous and getting the clutch pressure right, etc.... I could have this wrong.

When the time comes the next phase will be to do the clutch pack upgrade for the tranny and build the bottom end. However, this all depends on what I want out of the Evo. At this stage, I want a street car that will bring a smile to my face without having to have a fulltime mechanic on my payroll. When I am ready for more of the road course or drag scene then that will dictate how my next mods unfold. Right now, I think what Chad and CBRD is doing is going to make me happy for the next 12 months or longer (hopefully). I cannot stress enough how great the experience with CBRD has been; they are a great shop.

Yeah from what I’ve been told and research...350tq-400tq max is what I was seeing. Just curious as to any tranny upgrades at this point. When I get all my build money together, I have to make a decision on whether I want rims and tires or quest for more power with the extra $2k. Can't wait to hear the results! Good build and good luck!

If you don't mind me asking, roughly speaking, how much was the labor for the build? I'm looking to do a similar upgrade once I get my X

I will let Chad from CBRD chime in on this one because it can vary slightly depending what other purchases/deals took place and the situation surrounding the install. For example, I got a deal on a part due to another client in Australia decided to not buy a part so I got a discount on that part.

Chad is still tuning the Evo now so I am awaiting the final numbers as well. Considering this will be a conservative tune we are shooting for around 400awhp and torque to be lower than 400 for safety on a stock block and tranny. As Chad will tell you as he did me, you don’t need everything I purchased to reach 400awhp; but the build I did is a solid, reliable, safe, and staged for more power when the time comes. The tune is going to take some time due to the new 2012 tables, but hopefully we will get some numbers in the next day or two.

EDIT: Looks like 400whp isnt realistic on my build without changes (e.g. e85).

Update: Should have Mustang Dyno numbers early next week.

In for the results. You didn't waste any time going for power. Hopefully you had a chance to drive it stock for a while so you can really feel the difference in power.

Well, Chad is going to take another look but the initial first pass on the Mustang Dyno after tuning showed 339whp/297wtq (corrected numbers) from a baseline of 226whp/210wtq. It seems low and not sure if it is the 2012 (new tables?) or I just got one of the 2012s that doesn’t want to cooperate.

This is running 93 gas during a very hot and wet day.
Chad and team are going to take another look hopefully today/tomorrow.

UPDATE: Did another run with new fuel (93) and ended up with 356whp (uncorrected); this works for me. Dont think my Evo is going to get anywhere near 400whp on this dyno with these mods (I was too optimistic). In the end, I am sure the car will be crazy fun and that is all the matters. Chad and team have been great to work with

Final numbers - we will continue to investigate why the 2012 appears to be different (cams?):

349whp/294wtq final numbers on Mustang Dyno from a baseline of 226whp/210wtq (up 123whp/68wtq)
