AEM Uego Wideband - Install on stock DP/Cat?

So i picked up a AEM Uego Wideband today and am in the process of trying to figure out how to install it into the stock CAT/DP.

Do i have to take the cat out, get a bund welded to it, then reinstall it? (or buy a DP, which i want to eliminate). Id like to avoid all that worth if theres another solution and keep the car stock.

im a firm believer that if you are modding anything that effects your AFR (intake, exhaust, tune, ect) you should have a wideband and boost gauge. But thats just my opinion.

I agree with Snakes. You should always know what's going on with your car. Besides, you'll need one eventually.

I like the pro sport gauge. Nice blue LED that is easy on the eyes, it's accurate, and reads great.

Alright guys. I purchased my AEM Uego Wideband, which im trying to install on my car (stock down pipe, catted). Im unsure where to screw the wideband sensor into the car, seeing that theres no bung for the wideband its self. Do i have to remove the DP and get a bung welded to the stock DP?

I figured this could screw right in...

Take it to an exhaust shop. They can weld a bung in. Just make sure wherever they put it you have evough room for the sensor. If you put it in the stock cat, make sure and put it before the cat.

Sexy a-pillar too. I ordered my DSG 2-gauge last week before mangling the OE pillar with the Rexspeed one. I'm excited to get it

AEM have a no weld kit that you can use to put that wideband on but requires you to drill a hole.

a quick search should give you the answer...
basically you want the sensor BEFORE (engine side) of the cat. if you don't have a cat, then anywhere on the TP is fine...

you can also put it on the DP, but at least ~18" from the turbo, otherwise you'll burn through wideband sensors...

finally, you'll never eliminate the DP... the O2 housing is what you eliminate.

honestly whats the point of having a wide-band if your going to keep it stock, just for looks???
But best thing you could do is buy the mid pipe w/ wide-band bung already in it. ETS makes a great mid pipe.

I'm with team MECA so DSG sponsors us. We did the trial run and got the first patch of pillars. I was over sea's when i orderd mine so when i got home a few people already had them. I took the rexspeed pillar off and ran over it with a 46 ton tank.

i think you mean test pipe (not mid pipe). mid pipe usually is the pipe between the test pipe and axle-back exhaust...

as for adding the O2 bung, they're cheap and any competent welder/exhaust shop should be able to add one to your existing DP or TP.
