I wish I can dump more money into my evo. Modding is at a hault right now because of the new house. San Francisco housing market is crazy expensive! SMH

I've dumped around $18K (parts & labor) into my MR - trying to turn it into the car I thought it would be in the first place. A complete waste of money really. Now I'm seriously thinking about trading it in for a Focus ST.

How was it a waste of money? And just out of curiosity what did you expect? What was the Evo lacking? and why would you choose the ST?

I'm just curious cuz having spent that much money on your car there's no way it can't be amazing. And I'm sure you wouldn't have spent that much money if you didn't think it was worth while right?

Just wondering not trying to sound like a douche at all.

For me the car is un-involving to drive. I just don't feel "connected" to the car. Its like you're sitting on top of it rather than in it. Also it feels like a big car. Even with WL ARBs & Ohlins it rolls & pitches far too much for my liking. Looking at the ST 'cos I've always liked hot hatches. (I've owned two Renault 5 GT Turbos - front wheel drive go-karts!)

lol but seriously though, really? You could've said it's got an interior that's made to compete with a Model T, or that it's got more squeaks and rattles than a city bus... but saying it doesn't drive well or you're not "connected to the drive" is just ridiculous. Especially comparing it to a fwd turbo'd focus.

haha just when I thought I had seen it all; someone actually wants to go from an Evo to a Focus...

edit: just saw he has an Evo X, that's probably true then. Get an Evo IX and that won't be the case

Eat it, 10 out handles the 9 any day. But staying on topic, I love modding my Evo and it was worth every penny specially since I pulled up to my fiancé's sisters baby shower today and immediately one of her cousins that i never met comes up hugs her and shakes my hand saying..."I saw you before"... I said uh ok, yea at a car meet, do you have a hooked up white Evo? I said yea thats me but I don't remember you, he said yea I had a civic at the time and was with my friends, we saw you and your friends pull up and were like damn, we need evo's

Priceless

If there is no danger there is no fun. lol. Just kidding. You are right, the Z is a handful but if you are a good driver there is an awful lot of reward driving it. I messed with one of a winding road and he was glued to my bumper. I couldn't shake him no matter what I tried. lol Anyone that says the newer Vettes and particularly the Z06 and ZR1 can't handle simply doesn't know what they are talking about.
I messed with a regular vette once, long story short he reved at me while at a light and I hit the two step, but we were facing a left turn for the lane and I was in the center lane going straight. Light changed I got off the 2 step and just pulled off slow, he floored it into the left turn and drifted hard towards the side walk and light pole snapping back the opposite way he barely caught himself and went around the corner.I laughed so hard and vowed against vettes but z06's are sexy though
