Get the Cobb Accessport and make sure when you get the car professionally tuned that they put the map into the device

You could run the intake if you also have a Cobb AP. It depends on the intake, but they have a base map for the more popular intakes for Stage 1 and Stage 2.

Just get an intake with an OE sized maf housing like;
ETS, AMS, K&N, Injen, etc.

No Tune:
-OE maf'd intake
-Upper and Lower IC pipe
-DP (no external dump) (not worth it unless you're swapping turbo though)
-FMIC
-CBE

w/ Tune:
-TP
-3port
-Turbo/Manifold
-Cams (headwork)

Once you have a tune, consult your tuner before making any changes.

It varies a lot shop to shop, tuner to tuner. I know my tuner has done a few e-tunes for people that have widebands, so I'm not just going to say what I paid. But I definitely felt like I got an amazing homey-hook-up when I've heard what some other places charge.

The value of cost to amount of time he spent, and the help with installing the 3port in the dark in a parking lot, is just unmeasurable.

Tuning is the key. Be sure the tuner has a dyno to verify your HP and Tourque outputs.

We had good success with just bolt on's and no tune on the X.

Check out this post.

This test was done on our 08 GSR.

Thanks!

Verifying HP and Trq is totally a moot point, because dyno's read different and other variables come into play anyhow.

I'm not saying dyno-tuning is bad in anyway, because the dyno is a safe environment to put power down rather than a public road for sure.

But, I am saying, if the tuner is verifying that fuel trims are good, timing is working as it should, boost control looks proper and the resulting AFRs are good and everything is driving well. No problems with tip-in and what not, that is what matters. Whether, it's a road tune or dyno tune it doesn't matter. Just be safe if you're going to road tune and datalog.

The power will always be the result of good tuning, but it's not what's important with having a good tune.

YES YOU CAN HAVE IT ON, I HAD COBB SF INTAKE, TP, DP AND SINGLE EXIT EXHAUST, AMS FMIC AND UPPER PIPING WITHOUT TUNE, JUST DONT GO INTO BOOST.
