You should be good to go.

There's 2 schools of thought:
1) Engine is already broken in and ready to go from the factory
2) Take it easy and smooth for first 1,000 miles and change the oil afterwards

Either way, take care of the car and you should be fine.

I'm currently at 700 miles and I've reached up to 5-5500RPMS haha. Didn't beat on it but just a little fun. I think you should be good to go. However, I'm debating on changing out the oil at 1000 or 3500 according to the sticker HB Mitsu put on my windshield.

I would have built up to 6k rpm's by 1k miles. But everyone breaks in their own way.

Did you guys bed your brake pads in during your break in period?
You're supposed to do a series of hard breaking from like 35MPH to 5MPH.

No need with stock pads.

I'm at like 400 Miles now and didn't do it mainly because it didn't dawn on me till now, but aren't you supposed to on any new pads? I swear my VIII manual it told me to do it, but that was 9 years ago. I may be remembering wrong.

all my new cars i've purchased has not gone through a break-in period.

all engines are broken-in from factory. you think these giant corporations are gonna leave it up to john doe and jill smith to break-in the motor??? 99% of people have no idea how a engine even works, let alone know anything about breaking-in the motor.

my previous cars (00 celica and 04 s2k) never burned oil and never had any issues despite the lack of break-in on my part.

FYI (not trying to be a d-face) there is a section in the owner's manual about the factory recommended break in.

I followed that for the most part (maybe 1-2 3k-6k pulls) ... I can't recall what it is off the top of my head, but I believe it is 1000km/600mi, but just double check in your manual. At the end of the day though, don't stress over it - so many people have ignored it and their Evos are fine.
