Yes its pretty odd. But I will go the warranty route and see what happens. Its definitely stock, you can see the fasteners on the intake, exhaust, etc are all unmarred from tool marks.

I pulled off the lower pan and the conrod broke the girdle.

Once I have it up, I'll post some pictures.

I wasnt aware of the ring gap issue BS that followed.. but that makes sense. Thanks for pointing that out

My guess was the damage was already done long prior to it sitting idle, and it just happen to let go at that moment.

Figure out when your car was originally sold. It's going to come down to that. If you're still with in 5 years of the original sale date, you should be fine.
