For those of you with ACD pump failures (merged)
Relocation kits are ready for the 2008+ Evo X and Rallliarts...they look absolutely awesome even better than I could have expected....the boot space looks stock! I just got all the step by step pics and will post them Friday when I have a moment.
How noisy is the pump in the trunk?
Is putting the pump in the trunk going to be okay keeping it cool?
Put in my two cents!
Have just sent my complaint in. Made sure I posted on the complaint site about the ACD pump, Timing chain, and the piece of crap fuel relay where the timing chain and fuel relay both got an updated part yet not recalled Bulls***.
Sweeet! Been waiting for this!
I have negotiated for a discount deal for the first of us bunch, 15%-off, plus I have arranged for the best mechanic around to do the installs here in Ottawa at Rodgersperformance.ca, and I've also arranged to have the dealership bleed the lines at a discount. You aren't too far from Ottawa, so you could maybe even make the drive down here where everything's been set up already.
Is this based upon knowing the actual temperature tolerances or just speculation? These pumps have failed during both mild and hot temperatures.
Not based on speculation at all. The pumps fail not because of the hot or cold temperatures, but because the pumps have been damaged by corrosion sitting underneath the car unprotected. During hot weather the fluid therefore is thinner and leaks out the damaged pump, and in cold weather the pump has to work harder to push the thicker fluid and since the pump is damaged, you get your dash lights and codes with pump failure.
It IS due to cold weather. Had mine go bad and the dealer told me it was due to the fact the cold weather gels up the oil inside making it thicker. It causes the pump to work ALOT harder than normal and ends up frying the motor of the AWC pump. All it does without the pump is it takes away the functions to change it from snow, tarmac, and gravel. Basically makes it an open diff AWD. They will not make it a recall due to the fact that in the southern warmer states they aren't having the issues. Just in the north.
