I've noticed that the noise is louder when the motor is not at full operating temperature.

 

^^ same here. Once it moves up 1 or 2 bars then I wont hear it. Def not when it's fully warmed up. I took mine to the dealer and they said it might be the alternator spring but could also be the turbo. Never went back though.
