Stock Exhaust?
Well ****...It throws a check engine light, so the mitsu dealer was going to replace the "clogged" cat. They said it would be under warranty because there was a TSB for it. The car was there for AYC failure and decided that they would replace the cat while it was there. After they part got there and they went to install it, they ended up calling me and said that its not a cat, and cant replace a part that isnt there.
I wish I could get a straight answer out of Mitsu, but simply cant. The CEL should not be on if there is a cat under there right? (The code was checked and it said that there is a cat issue, I can get it rechecked and get the actual code)
Thanks everyone btw!

If the above is true, I am finally ready to declare that Mitsu dealers - as a class - are the most idiotically random humans on the planet. They declare the ACD/AYC pump to NOT be part of the powertrain and, therefore, limit its warranty to 3 years, but they might replace an aftermarket cat on the basis of some TSB that has zilch to do with aftermarket parts?!
Well I guess the guy could have "scraped out" the cat.. But that def looks like Turbo XS HFC. Are you sure they actually check or just looked at it and since its not stock just siad it didnt have a cat? They wouldn't replace it under warranty if it was messed up though since its not a Mitsu part.
In my opinion, you should buy a new cat-back exhaust and a high flow cat. Try and get the dealer pay for it since the car was sold to you without a cat. Then get the car tuned.
If you don't know the history of the tune on the car, take it easy on the boost until you get a new tune.

You have a CEL on because theres no CAT ? That's modding 101... they took out the CAT but didn't flash the ECU with a map that removes the rear o2 sensor warning..
Did you take your car to Mitsucrappy instead of Mitsubishi?

I wish I could say I have, but I didn't know any of this information until very recently. Mitsu thinks everything is stock so my extended warranty through my credit union looks to be valid still
Other than they exhaust mixup, I have to say they were pretty good.
they installed my AYC in one day which working with the dealer I bought my car from, it took them 6 weeks to install a fricken clutch
Based on my conversation with Mitsu, they really did think it was a cat. I went back and forth asking if they were sure, and they said they were. Went to go take it off and noticed the AM downpipe which really, the entire exhaust is AM and decided that its a resonator.
Btw, Mods, if I'm doing anything wrong, let me know, im still pretty new here.

Many high-flow cats will throw the no-cat/bad-cat code because they aren't as effective as OE cats. Odds are, if you just toss a extender on the second 02 sensor (aka an 02-sensor defouler), all will be fine.
