2014 Evo head unit question

For those with a non-nav 2014, how is the head unit interface? Is it easy to use, intuitive, etc.? Does it seem weird that the power button is on the passenger side?

Can the brightness be dimmed at night?

Any other pros/cons or commentary?

I had an 08 and I'm looking to get a 14, and the radio seems to be the main difference so just curious what everybody's thoughts are...

Thanks

It's not bad. Haven't messed with the settings yet but I do hate how the volume/power is on the pass. side.

Only thing I don't care for in my 14 MR is the fact that it has no temp or air guages....i know you can purchase aftermarket stuff but having that type of interface and screen should allow for some type of ECU/system readings for the track IMHO. The user friendly factor: I brightened the screen from the factory setting because it was too dim. It took my about 20 minutes to become comfortably familiar with the whole deal, and I'm no techy

I don't mind the brightness day or night, and I find the unit easy to use. The power/volume pissed me off for a while but you can control everything with the steering wheel, so I got over it.

Had an '08 before, now in a '14. Big improvements in adding tech found in cheaper "normal" cars. Head unit works great, vol button is oddly placed.

The knob is placed on the right because in Japan the driver is on the right... They didn't spend the money to change it for U.S. Or any left hand drive markets... IMO, it does look kinda odd over there...

I don't like the way the song information is displayed. The default screen on the XM radio shows the presets instead of the music details. That's kind of annoying. And the blue background screen is generic looking. Like something from Windows 98. Other than that, it's not bad.
