Great news!
I can’t believe how crappy the CMC is in this car…I was about to get an aftermarket one this winter.
I had to replace mine at a Mitsubishi dealer like a week after I bought the car (Used with 20K miles) they gave me the “not cover under power train warranty “Hopefully I can get my money back.

I probably already have that note then I guess. I get my oil changes done there as part of my maintenance plan, and I leave my mods on when I go.

Oh well. I kinda knew this going into it.

You guys are all paranoid. There is no reason to be worried about anything if you're going in for routine maintenance.

To those of you who have already paid to have a replacement, and still had the stock clutch at the time, I'm thinking your chances of being able to argue for a refund from corporate is very good. I have heard of other brands doing that, but it would be dealt with on an individual basis.

Paranoid? Perhaps. But I have had 5 new Mitsu vehicles and have had to get warranty work done multiple times. The one constant through all of this, is the inconsistency of the dealers. It just all comes down to the dealer. Some will not care about mods and then some will try any excuse as to get out of warranty work. Are the dealers not trained to look over the car and make not of anything that is not OEM and could cause issues in the future?

You have to keep in mind that you arguably have one of, if not the best mod friendly and competent dealer in the US. Don Herring is awesome. They make me wish I lived in Dallas

That's a good thing, it means you already have the revised/improved CMC. I'm thinking all 2014's will have it, and some of the late 2013's.

I just bought my '13 Evo used last week. It doesn't even have plates on it yet. I am happy to hear that I won't have to be paying out of pocket for a new CMC. Thanks for the post.

Yea, that's what I thought as well. It's a good thing. I'm still wondering if it's just a rebond or if they're replacing it with metal ones.

I'm guessing stronger plastic ones. It seems to be mainly only the 2008's having failures though so I think they have improved throughout the years.
