went through the stock CMC, 3 different SSP CMC, and about to buy the AMS one.. this could be a problem solver

I figure on waiting until the actual recall is issued then making calls. Please PM me if you find anything out, and I'll do the same for you if I hear anything.

Maybe this was stated and I missed it. Is it still worth upgrading to the AMS or MAP kit rather than getting the warranty repair done if I plan on going to a Exedy or Competition twin clutch?

The dealers should be able to check if your VIN is eligible now. I'm going to hold off for now though since I'm still on the stock clutch and I flushed my brake/clutch fluid less than 3 months ago...don't want to lose all my nice new ATE Blue

Wonder if they will just put the Evo 8 CMC on it? Hopefully somebody gets it done soon and reports back. Probably doing my clutch in about a month. Would be cool to know if I could save money and just get the upgraded part from the recall.

Should be the same CMC as the 2014 model, which is an improved/strengthened plastic unit.

So do you think that is strong enough not to need to be upgraded when I do a clutch change? Maybe just get the steel braided line? Thanks

Can anyone with the Magnus or MAP kit (for putting an Evo 8/9 CMC in an X) tell me how low they could adjust the clutch pedal and still fully disengage the clutch?

(I want to the lower the clutch-pedal height.)

If they recall this part, do they repay back the money spent fixing this problem? I heard some letters tell you to bring receipts of order for refund. Not sure if true or not.

Knowing Mitsu, I would think they would deny paying someone back. If you file a small claims or press the issue, they may give.

I would expect them to refund OEM CMC purchases, but not aftermarket. In a circumstance like that though, warranty may have already covered the tow & repair bill.

The law with regard to being refunded for fixing a problem (yourself) that is later subject to a recall is weird. What it pretty much boils down to is this: if you repaired the problem less than one year before the recall is issued, then you are eligible for repayment. Oddly enough, if you were so on-the-ball as to fix the problem further in advance, then they don't have to pay you back for the work. Crazy, but - by this non-lawyer's reading of the law - true.
