Great.

That doesn't help when all local dealers have restraining orders against you.

Aftermarket bleeders I would be certain to give cautions to the Adviser and made sure they put the proper instruction on the Repair Order that they generate on how to work those specific units.

The second part...... Shoulda had a calming drink before going to the dealer lol just kidding. Call a dealer outside your area to see if they can get you in. All dealers were shipped enough parts to cover how many Evos were registered in their area (MMNA registration, not DMV registration)

For the people who bought theirs second hand or private party, you will need to call ahead of time to insure parts are there waiting for you. I would not just show up for this repair.

Since it's plastic, even though it's stronger do you think it's still worth doing the AMS or MAP upgraded with the metal CMC if going to a heavier clutch?

I'd look at it like this. If you are already planning on going to the Metal CMC, but haven't bought yet, go ahead and have the recall performed. You get a new CMC and flush, the dealer gets to make a bit of $$, and try it out. Doesn't cost you anything but a bit of time to have it done. If you still have issues, or such, you can just replace the new unit with the metal one and not have to worry with a flush, just air bleed.

Thanks. I haven't had a problem. I have 40k miles stock clutch. Was planning on upgrading to a twin clutch in a month or so, so I figured I would have them upgrade the CMC at the same time.

Maybe I'll see what the shop charges to do the CMC upgrade at the time I do the the clutch. If the cost isn't too crazy ill do that. If not I'll have the recall done.

I went ahead and did the evo 8/9 cmc anyway I had already purchased the kit and my car was down. still going to contact the dealer and see if I can get reimbursed for it though worth a shot since I did do it before the recall was announced.

I just hate leaving my car at the dealer so long. My car has only been to the dealer once in the 40k miles and that was to have the LoJack installed. I worry about her at the dealer. Lol.

It's a single day job. Make an appointment, explain you'll need it back the same day, drop it off right when the service dept opens, and go back later that same day to pick it up.

Any dealership can perform the service regardless of where you purchased the car.

If I got a loaner car I might. I just hate hanging out at the dealer so long. I can hang out at RRE for 10 hours while they mod and tune my car but that is fun and they let me roam the garage.

Still considering it though. Just thinking having the metal one may still be better. It's been tested longer than the new plastic one.

Thanks for the responses.

Mitsu has improved the design every year since 2008. I'm guessing you were on an aftermarket clutch? You don't hear of many failing on the stock clutch.

Contact MMNA customer service, may have to escalate, and see if they will reimburse you full or partially. Worth a shot.

Any mitsu dealers in NYC or jersey that can do the warranty work and won't give a hard time about mods?

Mods unrelated to the recalled part cannot, by law, be used to deny recall work.

But if you're asking, instead, whether there's a dealer who isn't going to make note of your mods and put them in your MMNA file for future use against you, then that's another story and a pretty good question, to boot.
