But what does it have to do with changing the CMC if the tracked was tracked or not ?

I went to a Mitsu dealer here to ask about the recall and the service lady ever so politely told me there was no recall.

I nicely asked her to look into it and she continued to be such a helpful person and told me once again that there was no recall.

Something in my brain snapped and I just started to laugh asking her how I know more about their own company than they do as I know there is a recall.

She then gave me this look of defeat and plunked her fingers down on her keyboard, reluctantly searching through whatever database they look at to see recalls and her face went blank.

She then told me there was a recall on the CMC. No **** Sherlock. She was so surprised as she said her cell phone gets updated with these notifications and that she didnt get any meaning there was no such recall.

She then told me she was going to notify the service manager as they didnt know about it either.

What surprises me is how these companies....nevermind just this company but ANY company, stays in business.

Customer service in general has taken the biggest **** ever from my experience dealing with companies. No matter what company I deal with I am always told one then then provided another and its never a positive experience.

Okay, I'll end my rant :P

I just have to give my VIN to see if I qualify for this recall and go from there. I hope I get the same car back if they have to do this recall on my car

Haha, I don't even care about that I made my peace with the fact I might be voiding my warranty right after the first mod I did.

Also I know the the service & sales managers well and they both told me basic bolt-on's would not void my warranty should anything happen to original parts. It's only the aftermarket parts they wouldn't cover under warranty which is obvious. I understand that it's not up to them or they could just be talking out their *** that's why I say I already look at it as I lost all warranty long time ago and if something happens and they chose to fix it, great if not I'm not mad.

I think these guys just don't know themselves how long it will take so they just told me full day so they don't look bad if they state x amount of hours and taking twice as long after lol.

They have always done such a great job with my tires, very fast and do good work, that I asked them if they could do coils. The price was too good to pass up. I was a little worried but turned out they did a great job.

I was worried about the part being plastic but there really is no reason a plastic part can't be extremely strong if built correctly.

Yea after giving it some thought, I'm not too worried because the way I see it, it might even be better to be first because I feel like on their first time they will pay attention to every little detail in the instructions and really take their time to learn and do it right.

I'm also not too concerned with it being plastic. I don't care what it's made out of as long as it does it's job. There will be a lot of people running this new OEM CMC with aftermarket clutches so we will see how they hold up. If they start breaking then we will know we still need to get an aftermarket CMC if upgrading the clutch. But for now might as well get this better one for free.

The recall is performed regardless. The brakes and clutch share fluid and they're flushing the brake fluid during the recall. They probably just want record of condition to cover their butts and also to gauge how a car was driven. They are not using these pictures against you, don't worry. It is not uncommon for a manufacturer to want documentation before handing out free parts & labor.

Yes i completely agree with this. I will be putting an aftermarket clutch soon so i will give this forum updates on how the new CMC will hold up.

That's definitely on the dealership, not Mitsubishi. The dealerships have all received notice, whether they pay attention to said notice is another thing entirely though.

I called the dealer I bought the car from. They said it will be awhile. Said the techs have never done this and it's been taking them 2 days per car. Lol so I called another dealer and they said about 4 hours.

First he said I couldn't do it without the letter but I told him the car use to be in my ex's name. Then he said just bring it in.

Times like these I miss my BMW and Rover where they give me a brand new loaner car.

Just got mine done this morning at bell mitsubishi in nj. I called yesterday just to make sure that they knew about it and if my car was included in the recall. They confirmed that it was and said come in asap and we will take care of you. So I got there as soon as they opened (8:00) hoping to be the first car and I was! The service writer wrote me up and took the car in right way telling me it would be about 3hrs or so. Being that I live a hefty toll away I told him no problem take ur time just get it right ill be waiting. A hour later I heard my car pull out and it was done! To my surprise the service writer (Nelson) began to tell me I was going a good route with the mods and brands I chose and that I should get a cobb ap and get some more hp safely and that way i could just flash it back to stock if i needed to get warrenty work done. Upon further talking I gathered that Bell is accually a pretty mod friendly dealer. Anyways , the clutch def feels better and Im happy with the experience and would def recommend anyone in the area to them for the recall.

Yea I hear ya. I have just experienced so much bad customer service lately its unreal. Not just with the Mitsubishi dealership but pretty much every single company I have had to deal with. Its frustrating to say the least.

The dealer just yesterday quoted me 25 per wheel to take my summer tires off and install my winters. I had a bad feeling about their quote so I called back no more than 5 mins later and they told me 30 a wheel lol.

Either way they are still cheaper than everyone else I have called so it doesnt matter if I have to pay $5 extra a wheel

Just an hour to replace the CMC and flush the system? I'd be weary...
