But if you're asking, instead, whether there's a dealer who isn't going to make note of your mods and put them in your MMNA file for future use against you, then that's another story and a pretty good question, to boot.
I'm sure they will still do the work. I always thought if they did make a note it would be at that one dealership not MMNA. Am I wrong?

Newb question, but I am guessing this is going to do nothing to help the crappy engagement and notchiness into first and second gear that seems to come standard on these cars?

We know that dealerships are under orders to check for reflashes of the ECU any time an Evo X comes in and report the results to Corporate. Whether there are other orders is beyond me, but it would not surprise me one bit.

If you're referring to shifting gears, then this will have no effect on that, but the magic mixture of 2 qts of MTL with 1 qt of MT-90 will help. Search around for "redline cocktail" for details.

My Evo has the issues stated by the recall except mine was made in Nov of 2007....I hope they will fix it under the recall. I have had it in twice for shifting in and out of 1-2, 2-3, and the Tech did notice an issue and "supposedly" talked with Mitsu about it and they decided it was normal...this was about 6 months ago. I'm still under 51k miles even! 100% stock

Update from my post above. I called my Mitsubishi dealer here in Nebraska and they said they cant authorize approval for a recall. So they had me call Mitsubishi @ 888-648-7820 and I talked to a Rep there who looked up my VIN and said it is actually covered! Even though on Mitsubishi's website it says no open recalls for my car and I have not got a letter yet. The service team will call me Monday or Tues. when they have the parts in so i can get my CMC replaced! now they just need to Recall the S-AWC pumps!!!!!!! I did file a complaint to safecar.gov about the pump failing. I hope if more people complain we can get it recalled!

My 2013 shifts so much worse from a cold start than my 2008, but it's fine once it's warmed up. First and especially reverse are difficult to engage from parked, and I typically have to double clutch.

Even though, I don't know if I want to take part in the recall, as it seems invasive. I'd just probably rather roll totally stock transmission as I did with my last car.

The stock shifter in the X blows; I hated it the minute I drove off the lot.

Does anyone know how long the recall lasts? Incase some of us want to wait until we are almost out of warranty

Recalls should be good forever.

Here's my question though, why does warranty matter? Say they did report your mods and void your warranty accordingly. If you had something bad happen and needed a repair, they'd void your warranty anyway after seeing those same mods. "Going back to stock" wouldn't work for you either since Mitsubishi can tell by looking at the factory paint seals. When my transfer case was replaced under warranty Mitsu corporate did as to see pictures of certain paint markings to ensure they were still intact. Say for example I would have already installed an aftermarket clutch, they would have been able to tell and there's a chance they wouldn't have covered the transfer case because of it.

I believe if a manufacturer leaves the country they're still obligated to make good on their warranty and recall claims (Suzuki is a great recent example of this) and must have authorized repair shops to perform the repairs.
