RECALL- Manual trans Evo X's
The law with regard to being refunded for fixing a problem (yourself) that is later subject to a recall is weird. What it pretty much boils down to is this: if you repaired the problem less than one year before the recall is issued, then you are eligible for repayment. Oddly enough, if you were so on-the-ball as to fix the problem further in advance, then they don't have to pay you back for the work. Crazy, but - by this non-lawyer's reading of the law - true.
Sorry, no. I can't find anything that specific. Just an announcement of the new policy that the recaller must "recompense" owners who fixed the recalled defect themselves within the prior 12 months or anytime after the recaller began their investigation into the defect, whichever is further back.
Warning: less-friendly makers can simply offer to do the recall, even if you already fixed the problem, and that meets their obligation.

I called my dealer and they checked my VIN and ordered the parts
for this recall
They said, they'll call me in about 2 weeks for the parts to arrive
and it's free of charge

hope this help to solve the issue

Keep us updated, try to take a picture of this new CMC before they install it. Really interested to see if it's just plastic again or if they upgraded to a metal one.
Yet another clueless dealership and Mitsu wonders why people are tired of their dealerships and taking their money to other car manufactures.

Just received 2 recall parts in, one is already being installed and 1 is open. If you are in the Upstate SC area, PM me and I can check to see if your vehicle has the open recall.
Just a heads up, MMNA is request pictures of the calipers before repairs to be completed, I assume to verify condition of the calipers before the brake fluid flushing incase someone attempts to get faded calipers covered.
Repairs is stated to take 3.5 hours, but figure 4-5 hours. (not all dealers have the powered vacuum pump, but just a hand pump) You get the new master cylinder and a full fluid flush.

Go to your local dealer with the receipts (copies) where you had it replaced and have them call the DPSM and submit a sublet warranty claim. When MMNA pays the dealer for the claim, the dealer will write you a check back. All dependent on the DPSM approving/denying the reimbursement.

The recall requires the use of MMNA DOT 3 fluid, PN MZ311987. However, if you talk nicely to the service rep, you maybe able to work something out....
Or, if you're pessimistic (as I am), you can take this news as a warning that the dealer is going to trash your Wilwood bleeders because the Great Unwashed often doesn't realize that you loosen only the tiny little screw, not the larger screw.
Great.
That doesn't help when all local dealers have restraining orders against you.
Great.
