which is better short ram intake or cold air intake

Hey guys I have a quick question. I am getting a brand new cold air intake with all intercooler hard pipes and intercooler to buy at good price. But before I make the buy I want to get you guys opinion on which is a better intake. The cold air intake or the short ram intake. I need to know before I make the purchase.

Cold Air is definitely better than short ram, but if you live in a area that rains a lot and have lots of FLOOD stay away from cold air it will hydro lock your engine. I actually prefer the stock intake, because all short ram intake will get heat soak in engine bay during summer time and loose some performance this is my experience with short ram.

I would recommend our intake for the GSR/MR.

Direct bolt on, includes the heat shield. Our intake is also one of the highest performing intakes on the market

Short ram=a bit louder and a bit hotter influent air
cai=longer, usually going down near the wheel well areas, these are true cai's,

colder air=more dense=more molecules/volume. So it's a bit better, im no expert but I would say minimal differences in hp, maybe 1-10 depending on other things. diameter, etc.
-You can also put a watersproof air filter sock. But this will just restrict flow also. Its your choice. Honestly I think it safer to go with a short ram with a good outside heat paint and a heat shield. And make sure to try a and keep the air directer in there to get a litter more cooler air in. Idk what its called exactly haha.

CIA's are BS. As Michael said just get a ETS ram air intake and call it good.

Watch these blokes prove it.

Ok so I guess short ram is the best bet then. I like the ets. But I think the k&n typhoon intake system. I will go with because of the price and also it comes with the upper intercooler hard piping. Which is a saler.

I like the cai more for keeping temps consistent, in daily driver mode I noticed higher iat's and mat's in traffic and when starting from a stop with the Sri vs cai. Depending how your tune is setup the car could start pulling timing prematurely due to iat's.

i know more people convert from a CAI to a short ram vs having a short ram converting to a CAI...CAI has not been proven to add improvement over a short ram on our cars.

Good stuff guys. I've been waiting for the right moment to ask.
My 06 MR had an Injen intake, pipes, Megan turbo outlet and Cobb exhaust.
My '12 GSR is bone stock, 15k miles. Time to make it run.
I do miss the 'pshhhht' on recirc that the Injen delivered. A bit of ear candy I guess.

I'm dead set on ETS for my intake and probably will get a Cobb oval outlet exhaust.
Will the ETS make a nice BOV sound? Youtube videos don't really do justice.

AEM. Is the BOV greatly muffled through the stock intake snorkel?
