RPM issue

I've been having a weird issue with the RPM's on my X that I was hoping I could get some tips on troubleshooting it.

Issue 1) When I am driving, and I come up to a stop sign, as I press the clutch and put the car in neutral my RPM's will sometimes drop to 800-1000, but then surge from there to about 1500 RPMs. It surges about 2-3 times then the idle will go back to normal.

Issue 2) When I am in stop-and-go traffic my RPM's will go up to about 1700 RPM's when I push in the clutch without even hitting the gas.

I don't know if it is a vacuum leak, or maybe an issue with my TPS. Outside of those two issues there are no other problems with my X. Could those issues be linked to something wrong with my clutch or related parts?

I would give Chad a call, but, from what I've read from other posts, your symptoms are pretty normal.

YES! That's exactly what it does! It only does it a few times though. Is that normal? I'll try and give Chad a call during the week and see if could have anything to do with my tune.

No, that is not normal. And for me, the cause was the tune. After I got retuned by a different tuner, I haven't had the idle bounce since.

Cool thanks man. I'll give Chad a buzz and see what he can do to help.

Mine does that but on a smaller scale. I'm also 100% stock.

Mine never did it stock. It would drop the idle some, but then would go back to normal idle. It never bounced high and low like I posted above. Not until after I was tuned. It was almost like the car was trying to find idle but couldn't. So it would bounce high or low until it finally found it.

I wish a new what the fix was, other than a new tune. My original tuner locked my tune and wouldn't unlock it so I had no way to look at the tune and compare it to my new one to see what the difference is.

some cars are a little more sensitive to idle table values than others- we have seen over the years-

I would be more than happy to take a look at it- but the car has to be here for me to do so-
