Airbag light stays on.. Help

I recently swapped out my factory seats for a different set and it caused my airbag light to stay on.. Now I put the factory Recaros back in and the light still stays on.. I tried resetting by disconnecting the battery for 12 hrs ... But the light is still on.. Anyway to get this reset without going to the dealer? It's a 14 GSR.. Thx

Too bad you didn't read up on this before doing the work. You have lost the calibration of the weight-sensors in the passenger seat. No-one that I know of has come up with any alternative to going to a dealer and having them do the recalibration.

You're welcome.

Someone really needs to come up with a reliable method of defeating the weight-sensors on the passenger seat. Even if you had disconnected the battery while moving stuff around, as soon as you try to drive with an aftermarket passenger seat, the SRS system will fail.

As long as the original sensors are back in the car and plugged in, the light should go off. I would check all of your connections.

Yea, I wish that was true... But all connections have been checked multiple times and everything is connected.. Maybe another reason might be that I loosened and retightened one of the weight sensors while the seats was out of the car.. At this point I just don't know.. I scheduled the dealer to fix my blunder.

Possibly. I forgot to swap the sensors when I swapped seats and once I corrected the mistake, my light turned off.

Well I went ahead and checked all connectors one last time and guess what I found... The one black connector under the driver seat wasn't pushed on all the way.. So I reset everything again by disconnecting the battery and the light is gone!! So freakin happy!! Thanks to both if you for your comments.. Much appreciated guys!

Funny thing is I have aftermarket seats and the airbag light went over after a month or so. Now it will randomly come on for a few seconds every month or so. But I don't care anymore. I have the Tire pressure sensors warming on 24/7 and the check engine light every once in awhile. More lights just make the dash more colorful.

The passenger seat weight sensors may need calibration if your new seat is significantly different in weight from the stock seat.
