Whine noise on left turns

50k miles on the car, 2013 GSR. I'm hearing a loud whine on left turns, mainly on cold starts. For example, turn on the car in the morning and pull out of driveway, first left turn I make I hear a very prominent whine on the turn. Each turn after it gets quieter and is pretty much eliminated when warmed up after a few turns. Power steering fluid isn't low, and there are no noises whatsoever on right turns.

I'll be changing my transfer case fluid this weekend and will have the car jacked up, so I'm going to check it out and am wondering what I should be looking for/what could be the culprit?

Appreciate any insight

Haven't checked but will tonight. I'm thinking it's has to be an issue with the components on the front left side though, as if fluid was low I imagine it would affect more than only left turns

Hey if it's something as easy as topping off fluids I'll be ecstatic lol..

Question though, if I am low on AYC pump fluid will I need to bleed the system when topping off? Or is that only on complete fluid changes

So the fluid level is perfect. It's at the Max line when cold and Min when warm...

I think it has to do with the P/S.

Is it only left turns?

Yes, only on left turns.

Is there anything I should specifically be looking for to diagnose this?

Really feels like you need to swap your power steering pump with a known good one and see if the sound goes away. Whining noises I associate with motors / pumps.

Yikes, hope I don't need a new pump as they're $900+. I'll start off by changing the fluid and hope that works..

Yea hopefully changing the fluid will help out. It can't hurt.

As far as the pump goes, I would try and see if you can find a good used one. It definitely could be the pump considering its a whine and goes away at different temps.

I'm starting to see the same thing, thought I was the only one until I found this. What did it turn out to be?
