Larger heatshield for AMS intake
Larger heatshield for AMS intake
Does anyone sell a larger heatshield that fits an AMS intake? After getting tuned with one, I kept getting a lean code. Tuner deduced the high temps (90F+) along with the small heatshield and placement was drawing in too much hot air. They said since it was a common issue with the AMS setup, they were unwilling to check it out until cooler weather hit to narrow down the issue. I guess they were right, because once temps dropped below low 80's I didn't trigger the code again. Never had this issue with the ETS intake/shield, but I had a different tune too. Fuel pump is fine, no exhaust leaks.
Will something like this fit/help? https://www.maperformance.com/produc...stm-evox-inshd
TIA. Apologies if this is a dumb question, not that well versed on this particular issue.

Honestly, the tuner should be able to compensate for IAT variations. Either way, that heatshield you linked should help lower your IATs which isn't a bad thing by any means and something you should get.
does this fit Buschur intake? I bought Driven Fab Heat Shielf for $60 and it did not fit the Buschur intake. https://www.driven-fabrication.com/c...er-heat-shield
I dont think The heatshield is the Problem as the AMS is a really good one. I have the STM one and it does not cover too well,
but then again the only purpose of the heat shield on the Evo x is to prevent the hot air from the fan once it turns on.
Then again for $40 bucks its worth a shot you can sell your AMS shield for a lot more then that.
