No click no crank start on EVO X GSR

Anybody ever have issues with a no click no crank start issue with their evo x gsr? I’ve replaced all relays and fuses, and have ruled out my key. tested the voltage on the green solenoid wire on the starter.. voltage read at 0 while the car was trying to be started up. Checked the clutch sensor on the bottom of the clutch pedal and readjusted it. Battery voltage is great! Any idea guys? Maybe something with my ignition switch not sending a signal for my starter solenoid wire? I’m almost tempted to just put in a push start button until I can figure it out.

Have you done anything to the car recently? IGN Fuses, Starter relay, Bad Starter Solenoid bad or wiring to it loose/broken, loose/corroded battery terminals, bad battery, bad/loose ground/s, clutch sensor etc…

All are easy checks. Power wire to your starter solenoid I thought were red. Been a couple years since I was under a X though.

Load test the battery and make sure the terminals are tight. Triple check ground/s and power to starter solenoid. I doubt it’s the clutch switch, but unplug it, then make sure it’s in neutral before trying to start it lol 😂

I would think you’d hear the solenoid but another 2 things you can try is a few taps on the starter motor itself, or to 100% rule out your IGN Swirch after checking everything else just run a length of wire from 12V to the power lug down on the starter solenoid, that’ll bypass the switch.

You’ll figure it out, if you were close I’d help ya quick.

I’ve ruled the following
•key chip
•bad battery
•relays
•crank fuse
•clutch switch
i am able to use a separate 12v wire to the starter and it’ll crank the car. Anything I’m overlooking or missing? I’m getting fuel and my fuel pump works. Am I able to start the car with a temporary switch to the solenoid? Would my car continue pumping fuel?

There is a questionable ground to the thermostat or around where the radiator hooks up near the side of the block. That wire looks to be burnt up.. would that cause my issue? Also when I turn off the car I hear a click come from the engine bay

Did you ever get this issue resolved? I’m having the same issue right now and I can’t figure it out

Update: my battery died and I manually unlocked the car. When the battery was replaced, the alarm system was still active and wouldn’t allow the vehicle to start. I simply changed my FOB battery along with the car battery and unlocked the vehicle and it fired right up. ( I also replaced a bad starter and starter relay)

I am not familiar with the evo X but on the 8/9, there is an issue with the ignition switch rotating counter-clockwise which causes similar issues. The fix is to basically take apart the steering column trim, adjust it back to where it should be and zip tie so it can't rotate again.

Might be worth at least searching the forms and seeing if that was also an issue anyone noted on the X.

@DTFtuned did you ever resolve this. I’m having the exact same issue. 2010 MR SST, no starter signal, good relays, good brake switch, good grounds, starts right up jumping signal to starter.

Did you check the key?
