the legacy STi ??? ?
it does'nt really make sense for subaru to take components from another line to add it on..
i've seen this pics floating around everywhere..and i see people being mislead thinking that the STi is straight for the impreza line.. maybe u guys did too?
who knows, maybe we'll be seeing a
06 Impreza STi
and
06 Legacy STi

It's basically the same pic as the yellow one in this thread.

I have to say that I like the new look. Remeber taht Mitsu needs something to generate attention. All of their cars are not selling well and are older. The EVO is their one halo car to generate publicity. It needs to look the part, aggressive and mean.

On a side note I went to the Austin car show this weekend, in the Austin Convention center, and low and behold what did I see? Subaru and Mitsu were placed right next to each other. Subaru had the WRX and the STI, and Mitsu had, no freaking EVO. I couldn't believe it, in a car show where there was a Carrerra GT and a Ford GT, Mitsu couldn't even bring thier one sports car to the show? The entire Mercedes line was there, including the CL65 AMG (181,000). If Mitsubishi is really in that poor of shape that it can't afford to bring the one car that elicits an emotional reaction, what next?

The optimist in me could say that the comapny didn't want to try to sell a look of a car that may change radically in the EVO X, but somehow I don't think this is the case.

Whatever the outcome, the next generation WRX/STI looks terrible. The EVO is a perfect combination of agression and muscularity, even it it doesn't get the attention from 18-26 year old women....

I think it has more of a celica look than an srt-4.
These drawings are usually more radical than the final design anyways, but
If they do something about that grill, this new Evo X might not be that bad?

I'm really disappointed at what they are doing to the evo, the STi looks much better.

Well, on the bright side....IF it ends up being that fugly then maybe it will bump up the market value of the older evo 7's and 8's.
