yay, an automatic tranny...I don’t think they would do an actual clutch style tranny. If they did it, it most likely would be just like the auto sticks they have now in the eclipse, that would be the most logical.

I wouldn't want paddle shifting unless part of the equation was a sequential dogbox. I doubt they'd put a dogbox in an EVO OEM because of NVH.

They should just bring over the GTA but make it with sport shift manu-matic.

They should offer it as an option.

I voted 'no', however it would be a nice option. It would make the EVO more of a viable option to a wider range of potential customers (read: females and accountant types). It would also solidify the EVO's hard earned, and long awaited place in the American automotive landscape.

Active Yaw Control

......controls the 'pitch 'yaw' 'attitude'.....(choose anyone) of the car, say....mid-way through a 120 mph dirt road sideways drift......if it gets a little too sideways, the computer varies torque(via spark) and individual brakes (via ABS) and differential to bring it back on track. I just use dirt road for example. It'll do it on any road surface obviously.....

I don't want it because I know it will be an auto with paddle feature, like SMG. I would rather they use a real semi-automatic, which costs a whole lot of money. Or even a twin-clutch setup, which also costs a lot of money and is questionable, I'd rather have the 5-speed or 6-speed, which are "fine."

You know Xtrac's WRC transmission is only like 70k, and that has paddle shifting!

SMG isn't an auto, it's a full-blown manual that uses hydraulics to move the gear selector and the clutch.

Quote: 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer : Redesign. Platform will underpin new Chrysler PT Cruiser and Dodge Neon. The more modern sedan, with a sweeping arc roofline, will boast an Evolution X flagship. A new MIVEC 2.0-liter four-cylinder will be turbocharged well past 300 horsepower, continuing the rally battle with the Subaru WRX STi.

It's true, I have a friend who is currently a Dodge employee, and he tells me that the Evolution X will coincide with the release of the redesigned SRT4. They will not in fact be the exact same cars, but will use basically everything from the drivetrain of each other. Technically Chrysler is looking to Mitsubishi for the drivetrain design, and will be using Mitsubishi underpinnings for the next generation of small Chrysler cars. It's not that the Evo is going to be a Neon, but it's the other way around and the Neon will be an Evo. If you guys want an idea of what the Evolution X will look like in production skin, look for concept photos of the next generation SRT4, since Dodge has a tendancy to hide things out in the open. Its what they've done with nearly every car produced in the last couple years, (ie. PT Cruiser, Gen 1&2 Vipers, '02 Dodge Ram, Gen 2 Durango, SRT4, etc.) as it is currently, i'd prefer to see a cross between the two different concept ideas. as long as they go as far as possible from the bird-like Evo VIII look. My favourite Evolution to date is either the VII or IX.

Evo X looks horrible. Doesnt have that aggressive look that we are all used to.

paddle shift would be stupid on an evo and plus it would make the car extremely complex there for making it harder to service and work on...

ew dodge..... i'm gonna get my IX and be happy. I don't want the design to be raped and pillaged.. Poor Evo line's gonna get lil sucky clones. eh oh well...

BTW i own a Dodge Caravan and it's a POS. hence my dislike. IMO i don't think much has changed at Dodge and I don't carry much respect for 'em.
