Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
Mitsubishi auto is not a lux brand, and in its current financial situation it would be suicide to price its halo car outside the grasp of its target audience like in the old days of Supra and VR4.
Based on the current 08 Lancer at 19-25K, the Ralliart will be 26-28K and the Evo X 32-38K.
There is no way in hell the Evo X will be priced more than 40K MSRP for the top of the line trim. Period. End.

I think the fully loaded Evo X might barely touch the 40K barrier but not by much (theoretically just add a navigation system and a DSG tranny to current MR and it will top $40K), maybe Mitsu will differentiate the base Evo X with the high end Evo by increasing the HP (larger turbo, better exhaust), more aluminum components.
Anyway, to make it all short, I don't think the base Evo X will be that much more expensive than current RS. On the high end it's hard to tell as we don't know how Mitsu will package the new Evo.
On a side note, today at Bell Mitsubishi in Rahway, I have seen two loaded GTSs with Navi that had Mitsubishi Authorized leather seats with GTS logo and the upper area of seats matched the exterior color of the car(looked very nice and were extremely comfortable), the cars were about $25K, anyway, wouldn't it be nice if Mitsubishi would do what Nissan does and throw some factory backed aftermarket components at the new Evo?

Being that the current 08 Lancer GTS fully loaded and out the door (minus tags etc) is only 22,600... That's with all the bells and whistles.. So you can probably add about 10-14K on top of that for the EVO X..
I really can't see it going for $40k. If it does, it might mean the end of the Evo in the States. Remember what happened to the Supera/3000GT VR4 and whatnot? People just aren't going to want to spend over $40,000 on a Lancer, not matter how great it is. That's getting into E46 M3 and B7 S4 territory.
A fully loaded version can't sticker for much more than 36-37k. The majority of people just won't pay that much for it. With the GTS priced the way it is I can’t see Mitsu pricing the Evo too high. They are trying to make a good satb at the US market. The New Outlander is pretty good. The lancer looks like a good value so the Evo will probably follow along the same lines.
Keep in mind in a couple of years there will be a ton of new performance cars out of all flavors. 400hp Camaro SS, Challenger anywhere from 350-500hp, STI hatch probably about 325hp, current 335i (twin turbo v6) starts at 38k, G37 with 330hp, possible Supra, new Mustang (betting at least 350hp), etc. All of these will be under 40k.
The 335 with Vishnu Procede chip is nothing to sneeze at.

I think the new Evo will be priced maybe 1-2k more than the IX it replaces. Because of the shared platform, which means shared expenses they were most likely able to keeo R&D and production costs down, and we will see the benefits of that. I know someone else mentioned that in this thread ....just backing up their opinion.
