i don't think anyone is soaking their panties... we're just expressing some dissapointment that Mitsu doesn't sound like they will be i participating in the WRC any more. official statement or not, it sounds like it's pretty set in stone...

But now, company bosses have told the rally team that the withdrawal will be permanent.

I love how people equate participating in WRC to being in/out of rallying in general. There aren't even homologation rules in WRC anymore! Ever seen a new 2.0L Turbo AWD Peugeot? I think not. There is, however, group N rallying, which has been in, and most likely will continue in, regardless of whether they participate in WRC.

I knew it, I mentioned a while back that Mitsu has to be not involved in WRC anymore. You can't make the classy refined EVO X and still make it a competitive rally car too. Look at the next STI hatch that says "I am a rally car" all over it, definitly not the EVO X.

 

So, if car looks too nice and classy it can't compete? That the stupidest thing I heard today. WOW, retarded actually. Looks has nothing to do with it, unless you are talking about functional aerodynamics. It can look like a piece of turd or a luxury car as long as it has the performance to compete, that's what matters.

the X doesn't really look the part for rallying....true....i would have to assume they'll think of something though.....so many of the rally cars are hatches now i'm excited to see the new subie rally...but hope Petter sticks around..
