This seems kind of odd. You'd think that Mitsu would want to at least equal their competition, and improve upon the last generation of Evo. I wonder where C&D got their info since Mitsu hasnt released any official specs yet. I'm pretty sure the X will hit 300 at least.

you judge the car way too early my friend, give it a year or so and after tuners work around it same on the bling side. maybe you'll change your mind about the car.

How can anyone love the 8 or 9? Those are some god awful dumb-looking cars.

Guess it's a matter of taste. Hmm?

In all seriousness though, the new X seems to be a love it or hate it deal. I wonder if the people who don't like it are looking at the same car I am, the opinions are so disparate.

I don't think the car looks bad from the front, but the back of the car makes me throw up inside. It just looks plain awful. Like someone else mentioned the X looks way too alike to the current lancer. This is what I like about the current Evo's that the average car enthusiast can tell them apart from a base lancer.

From the rear the 8 and 9 look just like the base lancer plus a wing.

^ Yeah okay. That is why I said that the average car enthusiast. I guess you are not in that category. Since you really can't tell the difference from a base lancer to an evo.

Another unwarranted attack. Welcome to my ignore list. It's lonely in there.

With all this talk about weight being an issue, no one has discussed the sportback model which will be the WRC contender and probably a couple hundred pounds or so lighter than the sedan.

Come on sportback RS model!

i have a Evo Se weight in at 3195 lbs stocks when i got my new
i still have my radio and A/C, backs sits, full interior
just have alot of upgrade, like carbon fiber front sits, carbon Fiber this and that, and don't forget the Titanium
dude you can have it under 3000 lbs easy
you think i am joking well check this out in weight Reduction website
http://www.buschurracing.com/evo9-weight-reduction.htm

did you know that spare tire, jack and tools weight in at 37 lbs, and your battery weight in at 40 lbs
there i help you save 77lbs weight oready...
o one thing i didn't follow all the weight reduction list, but use your brain and spend some money
i know a guy who have a WRX weight in at 2840 lbs with radio, A/C and still have a full interior
get a 2nd job if you have too, just spend some money

i think the evo should be like that, look at the evo 4 and 5, they don't weight this much but the evo X weight in at 3500lbs, forget about the 300 hp cause it need the 20 hp to get it moving, o yet alot of air bags like u need it

dude talk about weight is your enemy or what is then ?

ok tell u an other thing then i want to make it over 400 whp on the stock turbo, upgrade to 2.2 liter, trying to keep the stock injector, no nos
i am sure i can have 9000 rpm, don't know about 10,000 rpm
but u guys know the 4G63, is not a piece of ****
think i am lieing, "there is more that meets the eye"

i don't think his GF will laugh cause his evo X just got smoke
700 lbs different, hey i leave it up to you guys to think it over

So u drive without spare and without a battery?

The lightweight battery kits will save u 20lbs., not 40. My BR kit weighs about 20 lbs. less that the original.

And I'm still confused on how u shaved 400lbs. with a full interior + AC, radio, etc...Is the entire car made out of carbon fiber? That must be quite expensive.
