Tens of thousands of people die in car accidents in the US every year. We could easily (not necessarily inexpensively) improve driver training/testing/enforcement and reduce that number significantly. But the hue and cry from the public at the extra costs/efforts/impediments to their "right" to drive would send the politicians scurrying to undo any reforms.

When it comes right down to it, people are willing to accept those tens of thousands of deaths, and until they they aren't, the situation won't improve.
It's off topic but I fully agree with you. the US driving license test is a joke.
I'm coming from France where you spend a lot more time and money.

One mistake on the road and you're out and it costs minimum 600€ if you are very good.

Seriously no one has driven an X. No one knows the potential of the new motor ect. everyone wants to see Mitsubishi sell cars, but ***** because they are trying to get a bigger range of buyers for thier cars.
Why don't you start *****ing about the XI why you're at it cuz you know about as much about it as you do about the X. I mean really should we combine all the "*****" threads and sticky it at the top?
Honestly.. I'm sure the car is gonna be great... I just dont like the body style as much. That just my opinion.

yeah theres always room for improvement. I personally wish they would have kept the wide body look but oh well. The car is still going to appeal to a whole new crowd and help Mitsubishi alot.
As far as looks some love the look others want alittle more and thats what body kits are made for.

if im not wrong, isnt the evo x wider already? i know it doesnt LOOK it but isnt it already wider than the evo 9?

i honestly don't understand why is everybody b*tching about the new evox, if you dont like it, then dont get it. this part of the forum is to help those who WANT the evo X.

and for those who can't decide for themselves, wait and when the car actually comes out, then go look at it, or have car and driver decide for you. since you can't decide for yourself

Amen.

I have no problem with people speculating or having an opinion. It's the members who make their speculation come across as fact, do nothing but b*tch and, confuse half the forum I get tired of hearing from.

I see you search as well as you reason. Look at my post count; OT messages don't count. BTW, I probably have about 30 OT posts, the bulk of which were uploaded today. Any other riveting revelations?

And I clicked one thread other than this you responded in...keep in mind this was at random and the only one I looked at

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=249079

are you an a$$ in all you posts or was it just coincidence?
I find it funny that you refer to caring about other folks on the road as being as ***. Not surprising, though, given your performance here.

All I was speaking was the truth unless you know more about the X then anyone else in here. If so please share or go back to OT.
I hang out on Evo General. If you actually spent time here, you'd know that. Oh, wait, you don't even own an Evo. Do you plan to spend the rest of your automotive existence playing a wannabe?

Regardless, your attempts to spin this into something its not speaks volumes about your integrity, or its lack thereof. As I wrote, dictating the site's norms while contributing virtually zero to its substance isn't just ridiculous, it's idiotic. Seeing how you don't drive an Evo, the comical nature of your demands almost makes-up for the utter stupidity.

I hang out in here cuz I plan on getting an X. Not much need to hang out in Evo General at the moment.
And as for as that thread you put that guy down countless time, probably accounting for half your posts. So whats that say about you. Do you know his situation. Maybe he just got the car and hadn't had time to change the tires or maybe he couldn't afford it. You bashed someone just to be an a$$.
My comments were made about idiots like you who try and turn nothing into something.
I Might not drive an Evo and what "demands" did I make? For people to grow up and stop complaining about something they no little or nothing about?
Take some midol and get back with me in a week when you've got a valid point and are in a better mood.

And my post count is higher than yours is sooooooo 3rd grade. grow up!

I'm sure this has already been covered somewhere in the 493 pages of this thread, but how is everyone feeling about the switch to aluminum for the block?

Skeptically optimistic.

No major worries though, since I'll be keeping my VIII alongside the X.

That's hardly the point. You accused me of mostly posting on OT and the record shows otherwise. Lying doesn't exactly paint a pretty picture.

And as for as that thread you put that guy down countless time, probably accounting for half your posts.
Right, I uploaded ~400 posts into that thread.

So whats that say about you. Do you know his situation. Maybe he just got the car and hadn't had time to change the tires or maybe he couldn't afford it. You bashed someone just to be an a$$.
I know there's a a warning sticker in the car that says the tires aren't suitable for snow/ice. I also know that it should have been self-evident as soon as the car was driven in snow. Of course, you're left speculating wildly as you have no Evo and have never driven the tires. Any other guesses geared to spin your way out this mess?

My comments were made about idiots like you who try and turn nothing into something.
Trying to dictate posting protocol, while contributing virtually zero to the forum is hardly nothing. Your not taking the least bit of responsibility for your actions speaks volumes.

I Might not drive an Evo and what "demands" did I make?
So, now you're playing dumb? I quoted you directly. You were telling folks what to write.

For people to grow up and stop complaining about something they no little or nothing about?
You might try being just a touch more honest.

Take some midol and get back with me in a week when you've got a valid point and are in a better mood.
You mean that you don't want me to post to you, yet you just addressed a message to yours truly. Is there a planet where that makes sense?

And my post count is higher than yours is sooooooo 3rd grade. grow up!
Did your dog help you write that?

pretty bad when you quote someone and leave out words to change what was really said.
And I'm here for information on the X, Not for people to say that its going to cost 40k + and have no idea what they are talking about.
and you're right I did address you, and if you could read you would understand that I said take some midol and get back with me in a week. Are you drunk or stupid?
And like the guy said "no matter what I would have hit the guy"
you are a tool who miss quotes and tries to dictate. I got every right to post my opinion like the idiots who complain without the facts. And I'm not the only one that feels that way.
You seem to be the only one with a chip on your shoulder.
So until you become a Mod don't tell me what to post.

If you feel like you were misquoted, please illustrate your claim.

And I'm here for information on the X,
What information?

Not for people to say that its going to cost 40k + and have no idea what they are talking about.
There is no concrete info, so folks are free to make educated guesses. Why do you have a problem with that, seeing how nothing is written in stone?

and you're right I did address you, and if you could read you would understand that I said take some midol and get back with me in a week.
I did read what you said and responded directly. Do you have a point, or is this just another imbecilic journey into absurdity?

Are you drunk or stupid?
Better save your strength, or you'll run out of clichés by the next post.

And like the guy said "no matter what I would have hit the guy"
I have no idea what that means. Would you like to ask me again whether I'm drunk or stupid?

you are a tool who miss quotes and tries to dictate.
I replied to your comments on-point, as the record shows. I wish you'd find the integrity to do the same, but I've given-up expecting a liar to stand behind his prose. Again, if you feel like you were misquoted, please illustrate it. Otherwise, your whining is nothing more than a feeble attempt to weasel out of replying directly and standing behind your own words.

I got every right to post my opinion like the idiots who complain without the facts.
Sure you have a right to post an opinion, just as others have the right to question it. Why do you have such a problem with that?

BTW, your seem to be attached to the word "idiot." Is that the extent of your vocabulary, or just a reference to not having made it past 8th grade?

And I'm not the only one that feels that way.
??

You seem to be the only one with a chip on your shoulder.
Right. That must be why I reply directly and don't substitute kindergarten insults for substance.

So until you become a Mod don't tell me what to post.
I can say whatever I like, as can you. In turn, we both have to deal with the consequences of our actions. Unfortunately, you prefer to complain, complain and complain endlessly.

Ironically, this started because you were telling folks what to post. Please explain how accusing someone of the same doesn't show you as a raging fool. TIA

you consider a chip on your shoulder an insult? man thought you would've taken the midol comment as an insult.
and as far as what you miss quoted it was about my "demands" as you claim. read the next sentence or do you need me to draw a picture.
btw you can take back the liar comment, and you still look like an a$$ but you didn't need my help did you.
and lastly I never told anyone what to post. unless you consider me telling them to start complaining about the Xl because they new about as much about that as they do the X. Did you take that statement seriously. Suprised you haven't already started the thread.
really I'll be the bigger man I'm done argueing with someone who twists things around and take things out of context just to get thier rocks off.
your worthless bickering has bored me...you're on ignore
And I apologize to everyone else in the forums for having to read his lies. the truth is on the last two pages and in the link provided earlier.

That's a very thoughtless idea. Knowing how to drive a stick shift is no guarantee of driving skill. Practically everybody's great grandmother and great grandfather drove a stick shift car. In the old days the automatic transmissions were more rare and expensive.

Anyway, the whole discussion about the yet unknown EVO X is not about A/T vs. stick shift. The DSG type trnamission is a whole world different from a regular A/T. I've been driving cars with M/Ts and A/Ts for many years. The standard automatic transmissions really suck for spirited driving in the twisties, but are much superior for every day driving in the city traffic and stop 'n go commutes. The new automatic transmissions such as the DSG and the one they are talking about for the EVO X are marvelous devices. They can be shifted manually or left to work automatically. In either mode they work supremely well and take nothing away from the crontrol of the car.
