may lose a lot of customers for this reason. I don't want them to go out of business... then I wouldn't have a warranty lol.
I don't dislike the look of the car or anything.. I just think that for those of us who like to add mods and such to the car it's going to be a major issue, and I fear that

the x looks good imo, but i doubt i ever get one, hell the replacement parts are expensive enough now that when modding you will break something... i would hate to see how much it's going to cost for a xfer case or tranny on that thing.
i am sure it's a great system and all, but for modding i would rather not get into the cost and complication of that equipment... for now. knowing me if you ask me again in a couple of years i will probably have changed my tune

Well I think BMWs does suck. What I meant by suck is not the performance so don't get me wrong. Great performance, good looks, great ride comfort but the DURABILITY and QUALITY of it sucks. I used to own one and I spent more time fixing it then driving it. Plus there's factory maintainence that cost over $500 just for an oil change, air filter change and fluid inspection.
But I agree that just because the Evo might not be manufacture in Japan, doesn't mean that it will suck.
I think what suck is you guys speculating to early......
Just kidding guys

if it costs that much to fix it up aftermarket companies businesses will go down
The truth, huh? Sure, Bob. Do you actually know better than the Mitsubishi engineers and Mitsubishi as a whole? What are your mighty credentials that would give us any reason to believe your so called truth, also known as a by product of ingnorant misinformation? All you losers that doubt the upcoming Evo X just fear change. This is their halo car. They will not ruin for us. Since when did Mitsubishi mess up the Evo? The answer to that is never.

? If they are doing so great why is there talk all over the place of them going belly up?
1. How many of you are engineers?
2. How many of those that are engineers are employed by Mitsubishi?
3. Regardless of the last two questions, how many of you have driven the new Evo X?
4. How many of you have been able to look at the internals of the new engine, or have had a hand in doing durability tests on it?
5. How many of you showing hatred toward the Evo X currently own an Evo 8/9?
Ok, call my psychic, but Im going to predict the results to those 5 questions:
Questions 1-4 have no hands
Question 5 is about 90% current Evo owners.
Seriously, you all need to calm down and form an opinion after the product is released to the public. No one on these forums is a "sweetboy" for Mitsu. Some are just not over-reacting as much as others. As far as Mitsu going belly up, they actually posted a profit for the month of December and January as well (positive about Dec, pretty sure about Jan), and is showing signs of new life in the US. Mitsu adding content to the Evo is another step to help sales in this country. I have a feeling many of you will change your tune once the X has proven itself to be superior to the current cars. That being said, Il probably keep my 8, and buy a X for daily driving.
Real quick, show of hands

I agree with most of your points Tri, although I think (hope) that most people only want to make sure that the X remains true to its roots. We all see "diluted" versions of legendary vehicles being produced left & right and we all just want the X to retain its bloodline. Personally, I hope the X kicks my MR's *** in ALL aspects because then it shows me that Mitsu is really putting the time & effort in making this incredible vehicle even better...but that's just me.
Obviously, a completely new platform will have quirks and bugs that will need to be fixed before (best case scenario) or after (worst case scenario) it is released and we'll just have to deal with it. Believe me, I don't want a car to shift for me, I am not crazy about paddle shifters and I also take everything I read with a grain of salt...let's give it a chance and if it DOES turn out to be a watered-down version of the current platform, THEN we can bash all we want
...something tells me it will live up to our expectations.
People who doubt the next gen Evo are idiots
People that whine like little kids about having paddle shifters are bigger idiots.
The Veyron, and Enzo have paddle shifters....are they less of a performance car?

Come on now, calling people idiots will not help them be less judgemental about the Evo X.
Did you know 60% of Corvette buyers order their car with an automatic? Also an auto on the Z06 is a very common desire? Whats my point? If Mitsu can have over double the sales of the Evo if they introduce an auto transmission, they SHOULD do it.
Mitsu is in the business of making money, and if that helps then it will allow for future Evos to be designed. This on top of the fact its not even a true auto in the X, rather a dual clutch setup. Relax guys, everything will work out. Yes the Evo is losing its raw edge, but the benifits outweigh the negatives...
