Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
All the people that don't like it will still buy it because its an Evo. Evryone hated the design change from 7 to 8 but still bought it. It will grow on you once it is here and you have no other choice.
considering there are probably going to be numerous subtle changes before the actual EVO X comes out.....
i like it...overall shape...it looks good....there are definately certain things i'd change on the outside and ALL of the inside...but the overall shape of the car is pretty nice...kinda looks like a cross between our EVO's and the new Eclipse......

I like the overall stance of the car. It looks mean. Keep in mind, this is the concept version so some stuff should get toned down....

The current Evos have Super Active Yaw Control and an Active Centre Differential, I don't think they have active steering though.
I'm more curious about this:
Does this just mean swaybars, or is there something cool that they are developing?

"This new anti-roll bar system is similar to the one used so successfully by Citroen in the FIA World Rally Championship," said Viardot. "It improves stability during cornering and ensures that the Evolution handles more like a WRC car. It is particularly useful on twisty special stages, narrow tracks and the traditional Prologue stage. Another of the system's strengths is its adaptability on bumpy tracks and in sand holes."
So maybe it is a system like that but for a road car (like it was originally intended if it is used in the WRC). It sounds like it could be good but also maybe too expensive to carry over to the production version?

Honestly I think a lot of you guys are blowing this way out of proportion. Let's not forget that this is only a concept and not the real thing. Yes it does give you a hint of where Mitsubishi is heading with the design, but probably 20% or less of this concept will actually ever make it to production. For one thing, the seats absolutely will not make it, the paddle shifter most likely won't make it either, and the covering over the engine will probably look nothing like that. Still it is very important that consumers voice their opinions, to better help Mitsubishi gauge what is hot and what is not about this concept. Also do not forget that Mitsubishi has always had some wild, outrageous, strange looking, and somewhat interesting concepts-
Remember this back end from a concept-
Well it eventually became this-
Here are some other interesting concepts from Mitsubishi-

The more I look at the photos the more I realize it actually looks like that concept rendering that looked so much like a BMW 330i with Mitsubishi front end photoshopped onto it.
The rounded styling of this concept is very much more Bimmer-esque or even similar to the Acura TL like some have stated. Seeing it all put together is cool and it works fairly well.
As I said before, I'd love it if the production model retained a bit of the sharper lines with blistered fenders. But I'm loving the front end of this one.

for everyone saying its still just a concept well mitsu's concepts don't change much, like when the 2006 eclipse was a concept it looks the same as a concept as when they released it.
and also the back looks like a mazda 3 with a spoiler

First glance of the front view, I saw SRT-4 in the rear, 4th gen eclipse on the top of the windshield. Now from the side, I'm sorta seein 2nd gen IS350 and the new TL cuz of the ridge down the side.
I really hated all the previous drawings of the X but now that I see it, its not half bad. The side view looks good, but they need to get rid of the raked look. Did anyone notice an almost uncanny resemblance of the hood to a 03-04 cobra??
Oh yeah, if they don't have a regular stick option, no way I would buy it. I don't think clutchless paddle shifters would be near as fun unless they are off of the F430.

If it looks like that it better run mid 11's and handle better than my MR. I hope the dual exhaust means it is a twin turbo V6. Two Evo IX 16G's on the new Eclipse V6 would do the trick with AWD. I would even settle for the paddle shifters. I would really like to see them do a two door model similar to the Norris Design custom.
here i didnt like the black. so i gave it a little of my twist... makes it look a bit better... before it looked like it was made in china with so much plastic.

TELL ME WHHAT YOU GUYS THINK???

Looks great I love the matching body color you did.
Bounce your Chops are Kick ***. I needed to see that thing black, sexy as hell. Why is it that Mitsu always picks the lamest colors for their concept, soon to be cars, i.e, the new eclipse and that copper color?
The interior will definitely look different though, in my opinion. Seems all concepts have that over the top look to them but when the production car comes out its very toned down.
Other than that... Looks like i might wait for the X!! Plus it gives me more time to put some down payment money away.
