To me, all that aluminum set off against a stark & spare black interior makes me wonder if they based their design on a 'modernized' version of a 1961-1963 Thunderbird passenger compartment.
The layout and design of the dash & console seems awfully similar to the interior of a 1963 Thunderbird I used to own...

I saw the front and thought I had been transported to the audi forum, then i saw the sides and rear and thought that I was on the mazda forum....
then I remembered that mitsu is in financial trouble and they hired a gradeschooler to take a model of an audi a6 and a mazda 6/rx-8 to design the evo x after they fired all the design engineers for lack of money
it's UGLY.

I really hope they make this car as close as possible to the style shown in these pictures, and release it on time in as an '07 model.
I'll be waiting patiently as the dealers close out the IX and pony up to the table with my cash in hand for the last of a classic, as others line up for their next Acura (albiet with phenomenal power)

The 06 Eclipse came out looking real similar to the concept (and for that matter, the same may be said for the previous generation Eclipse). I hope mitsu follow the same tradition with the concept Evo X and the prodution Evo X.
