WOW, Im very glad Im picking up my IX next week. That thing looks like a Ford.

 

Here's some rough chops.

 

Car looks aggressive, but that front end has the areo dynamics of a truck! blah.
Big and flat.

 

I'm pretty confident it wont look like that.....thankfully.

From that press release (and I know it is only a concept so far) I am liking it even more. I already liked the new shape, and I didn't like the VIII so I probably have a different taste to a lot of people on here. The rest of it is sounding just as good (or better for those that didn't like the shape). Aluminium nearly everywhere, a new all alluminium version of the engine we love (well I do), a six speed auto/manual gearbox (which a lot of people wanted but I hope there is a manual too), the new super all wheel control features sound interesting (not sure about the active steering though), and the interior sounds a lot nicer (although hopefully not at the expense of weight).

Hopefully they went for a brake upgrade too, the Evolution V to IX Brembos are great but a lot of cars are catching up now and I think from some of the upgrades people do some slightly bigger ones would work ok.

Looks like Mitsubishi are finally making some good engines again, they used to have some nice DOHC and MIVEC engines in the early to mid 90's but went backwards to SOHC and lost the MIVEC for a while. The ones in that press release sound better. I was starting to wonder where they are heading but if they put those concept cars into production (especialy the IX concept as it is there) I think they will be back on track.

An not too bad I think, 20" wheels and look at the rear setas I know it probably won't look this radical if it will be produced but it looks promising.
