Great write up, I am very interested in adding the backup camera to my factory nav now.

How is the backup camera viewed on the screen? Do you have to switch to AUX input or does another menu become available or is it automatic with putting the car into reverse?

Thanks, and great work!

The backup camera is automatically activated upon putting the car in reverse. I have added this feature to my factory nav system.

Any pictures of where you installed the camera?

Thanks!

definitely a great write up, ever since i bought my evo i have thinking of the nav. i just think it makes the whole dash come to life.

$700 on ebay? oh my god, was it a vendor? maybe you can direct us to that link pls. i have a 20% off coupon from my dealership but even with that i wont get the nav for $700.

maybe this could be a sticky? i am sure evo X owners would be referencing this as the evo gets older.

Hi,

I know at least on the cars with the tech package, there's an RCA connector for aux-in in the little cubby under the dash. Does the kit come with the stuff for this? Or do you have to get the parts yourself?

im looking to possibly part out my stock navi on my GTS
and it should basically be exactly the same because i want the pioneer avic z3
for the built in equalizers and what not (the z3 still has a built in hdd for navi and music)
and not to mention its 3d maps but
but i mean if anyone lives in the southern florida area than u can talk to me possibly
im willing to do a trade if u offer me a z3 which is like 1300 i believe on ebay

Slightly used from a 2007 Outlander. Looks mint. 525 for the unit + 350 for the install kit.

Might have to do a little custom work on a bracket as the outlander and lancer brackets looks slightly different but no biggie. Dremel ftw.

I was stalking ebay for weeks trying to find one..
