i just got one BRAND NEW, i really got lucky with it too as it came with the install kit BUT for the outlander bezel and metal bracket are different but the rest looks the same.

i just dont get ebayers, why bid when there is like a week to go or even a day left? well unless they are friends of the seller.

anyways got it for $500

I am trying to get the Nav Unit programmed at a local dealership, but they said they dont have the MUT-III tool? They asked if I have a disc that came with the Nav and if i dont they can't do it. I thought you just needed the MUT-III tool to program it right? It comes with a map pre-installed already, why would I need a disc for it?

They need the MUT to interface into the cars CAN ECU or something to tell it that the car is now navigation equipped so that it knows.

Everything seems to work so far, but are there something they have to program with the MUT tool to work? Things like TPMS and the model of car it is installed in? Part of the instructions with the Nav is to program options with the tool, but i don't know if it is necessary .

Thanks.

Yeah, that is one of the options to be programmed in the instructions. I think all dealership should have a MUT-III tool right? They thought I needed some sort of disc to program the Nav unit and I wasn't sure. Maybe they didn't know any better.

i think i understand you now, so your nav works but you just want like the other things to "communicate" with the nav. hmm, that i cant answer sorry. as long as the nav is working i guess, the others i can just look at the gauge for info.

I just installed everything back together which was pretty easy and when I took it for a test drive the Navigation's location is set to New York and the date and time did not sync. It is still set to Jan 1, 2005. The arrow moves with the car on the screen, but not in the state where it should be. Is there a way to re-sync the GPS and the map? The manual says to just drive around and the GPS should sync up. I guess I really need someone with the MUT-III tool to program it before it'll work ?

The good news is the DVD hack worked for me

Thanks.

Just finished the install today on my ebay won MMCS -- literally took 30 minutes top!

Great write up, thank you very very much!!!

My one question is...the dealer visit to program the car -- is this absolutely necessary? Everything seems to be working with the unit, which is the only reason why I ask.
