Where did you find that? In this thread? I don't see it.

In this case does "CAN" mean Canada? In other words I don't need it because I am in the US.

It was another thread completely. I used the powers of the "Search" feature.

However, I included the handle of that poster. Might want to send them a message about specifics too

After i plugged it all up went for a drive and the navi still thinks im in nyc...thing didnt come with the gps antena, i thought the gps antenna was that CAN box...either way at what will end at around $250 for the oem navi..best deal ever

Hey guys,

Sorry to bring up this thread again, but I couldnt really find an answer.

Looking at an '08 Nav MMCS Unit from the states. Are there going to be any differences:

a) Because I'm in Canada, and the MMCS unit is from the states, and
b) Because I have a 2011 GT, and it's coming out of a 2008 Evo.

Also, am I looking to run into trouble that'd need the dealer to be fixed, like re-programming or anything like that? I just moved into Northern Labrador, and the nearest dealer is about a 24 hour drive away lol, safe to say it wouldn't be worth my time until I move back to Newfoundland.

It's been a while since I was looking at this, but if I remember correctly it might be one of the following:

1. Loose connection.
2. Did the 2008 Nav require an additional bluetooth module?
3. The dealer may have to "alert" the Navi that BT is there.

I appologize for this being so vague. I will look through my notes when I get home and post better info if I find it.

Good luck!

Zeroing in on your problem, Mr. X...

Did you have bluetooth before the transplant? If so, then you shouldn't have to go to the dealer. Check to make sure your bluetooth module didn't come loose during the install (see the Bluetooth Install post for locations).
